UK 'Exposed' To Terrorists Arriving By Boat
Saw an interesting discussion on the box last night here in OZ where some writer/reporter who seemed to be of indian origin was talking about why Brexit should get the nod and he made a hell a lot of sense. He thinks that the remain vote will win if voters between the ages of 18 to 25 come out and vote. His main theme was that the EU is a total failure and that it needs to be disbanded and after that look into forming it with more accountability to the country's within it. If the remain vote gets the nod then control of the UK will be handed over to the EU. Mind you I must agree with him on the fact that both sides are running scare campaigns which is going to favour the remain camp for sure. Not anything to do with me I know but in my heart I do really hope for two things to happen this year. Brexit gets the nod and Trump gets the nod in the states. About time people power started to get a back bone and kick the fecking parasites out even if it is a mistake at least a new broom will have cleaned out some of them I hope.
mine the channel barbed wire would do the trick any smuggler should foot the bill if they have a house here sell it for the costs to the taxpayer on both sides of the channel anyone on the Kent coast will tell you they don't want the likes of Albanians climbing over their garden walls during the night if this was to happen in Cameron's patch in oxford something would be done immediately no not in my back yard but this will go well for the get out votes? jp
Britain and Europe: For Richer or Poorer?. BBC2 last night 9.00pm. If you missed it well worth a look on i.player.Laura Kuenssberg speaks to different people on both sides to get to the bottom of who wins and who loses. She spoke to different business people who said what was good for them in or out but what amazed me was she spoke to a woman who owns and runs a hovercraft factory with her husband, they had an order from Brazil worth £50,000 but they could not fulfill it because we do not have a trade agreement with Brazil. She also spoke to the CEO of Tate & Lyle on the dock there down in Silvertown,he spoke of a very huge tariff that they had to pay for the last ship docking here with cane sugar.I cant remember the exact figures here but if anyone else seen it maybe they will let us know. His complaint was as a cane sugar company they would not be listened to in Europe as there are about nine beet sugar growers there who take preference.

jim it might be we have come to dependent on the red tape of Europe we should do something about our own identity in the world before we get into the rut ? we have all the technology in this country to do anything we want make anything like we used to not to be lead like a dog on a lead lets put the great back into Britain again we have dragged our anchor long enough.. jp
Jim, EU favours beet sugar instead of imported cane sugar. So much restrictions were placed on imported cane sugar that the refiners gave up. Led to the loss of a refinery in Greenock and the weekly visits of sugar boats. Believe the same thing happened in Liverpool.
Beet sugar is refined in Newark.
