Not to open the door to any strange men or women especially if wearing face coverings. and the second one not to open the bottle of whisky until have assisted in drinking everyone elses. Cappy is still in bed as had a heavy night last night on the scrumpy. He"s the best one to answer your quandrys, he"s not making any this year as reckons he has now attained perfection. Cheers John S

Re: New years resolutions
I had to stop drinking, not by choice, I guess I was drinking to be merry too much, it is Great until One Day it hits you. I was told in the Hospital to stop as they were investigating Cancer of the Larynx,
there was no cancer this week after the operation but there was Dysplacia, which is the step before Cancer. Where the cells are multiplying too fast, caused by.....Smoking, and Alcohol, . So a little scary.
I had two cancers cut out last January, just before my last trip, so once bitten twice shy. Year before it had affected the Pancreas and Liver, so they are OK now after two life saving operations
I have half lost my voice, I cannot speak too good and rather embarrassing, So I have to be very careful,
I am due another operation when I return home from my trip and am booked in for 29 March.
I did have a large tot of Mount Gay Rum, my son bought me from Barbados, last night, So I awoke this morning without a hangover. A good feeling.
Cheers
Brian.

Re: New years resolutions
Brian had a lump cut off on voice box last year Was in and out of hospital within 3 hours. The only advice I got was told not to speak too much, probably why I speak so much on here instead. Also had a heart attack a number of years ago which had to be told I was having. Have been in Hospital for sleep apbnia and told was 2nd worse case they had ever seen. Was also in hospital last year for over a week and was in the quarantine room as thought I had some plague or other picked up abroad, kept on telling them I hadn't been abroad. Finally found it was some nerve or something found in a body scan. All these things happened since retired was always mobile when at sea. Can recount at least three close encounters with death whilst at sea over the years. An Indian fortune teller told me years ago I wouldn't live past 40 would strangle him if he wasn't dead. Heres me all prepared to accept 40 as my unlucky number and what happens nothing. Some of us are lucky, at this time of year I always remember those not so, so heres to old shipmates past and present, and the devil take who he can catch. Try taking Ambrosia Liver Salts the Elixir of youth I am told, it was a Chinese salesman this time, and they never tell lies. Cheers John S PS not joking but suffered from cramp in legs. Was given one of these foot things you put your feet on and sends electric impulses up the legs, the cramps seem to have gone. I am waiting to see if the electric impulses carry on further after a time, up to now it looks promising. Best Xmas present had for a long time. Cheers JS

Re: New years resolutions
Hi John
The Canal near to you is only 3 feet deep. So do not Dive in, you will bang your head on the bottom,
Jump in feet first.
Cheers
Brian.
