Re #88.
I'm not so sure about her Norman descent, but I'm definately sure that Queen Elizabeth II is descended from the scum Hanoverian kings imported 300 years ago, when the Stuart line failed with the death of childless Queen Anne.
Re my post #81.
I should have made the last line of my thread more clear, it should have read:-
English and Proud of what?, to serve under a German monarch such as George Ist "surely not".
FOURO.
I guess it doesn't matter any more Fouro,
all our great grandchildren will be moo, slims, and we will all be forgotten in the new Caliphate of Britain.
Es Salaam u-alakum, Mubarak.
This is a pointless argument as far as I'm concerned, it is about us not about hundreds of years ago, our armed forces are something to be proud of, until recent years our NHS etc were something to be proud of. Our country and the BRITISH people as a whole is something to be proud of. Royalty didn't spoil a any of these things, it was / is the politicians of all party's, given the choice between our Queen Elizabeth or president Blair-Corbyn or Cameron I know what I would want, it's a "no brainer" and by that I don't mean Corbyn!. So
proud of what? you say, for me I'm Proud of my country I'm proud of my family and I'm proud of who I am, that's what I'm proud of.
John F.
Well said Johnf,
There has never ever been a good Political President, Give me the Queen any day.
All Presidents are corrupt,
I think we have been the most Stable country in the world.
Cheers
Brian.
What are presidents? if their not jumped up ex politicians they're usually politically minded Generals who take their new positions by force. Personally I find it hard to understand why in a stable country like ours anyone would want a Republic and the dodgy president that goes with it. I hate to think about what is in the future, it's time to bring out "Drakes Drum" and give it a good beating. I think you might just be first in the queue to do that Brian. :) Cheers, John F.
'There will always be an England, and England will be free, if England means as much you as England means to me.
Don't forget the past, learn from it,
fouro,
These are the words of the song that Corbyn sings before he goes to sleep.
I think the words are a load of crap. may have been OK in 1889 but not today.
My great Aunt Emma Aspinall was a coal miner, she is in the 1881 Census as a Coal Miner aged EIGHT.
I think conditions have changed since then. Now you do not have to work and collect big money.

THE RED FLAG.
The people's flag is deepest red,
It shrouded oft our martyred dead,
And ere their limbs grew stiff and cold,
Their hearts' blood dyed its ev'ry fold.
Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
Look 'round, the Frenchman loves its blaze,
The sturdy German chants its praise,
In Moscow's vaults its hymns are sung
Chicago swells the surging throng.
Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
It waved above our infant might,
When all ahead seemed dark as night;
It witnessed many a deed and vow,
We must not change its colour now.
Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
It well recalls the triumphs past,
It gives the hope of peace at last;
The banner bright, the symbol plain,
Of human right and human gain.
Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
It suits today the weak and base,
Whose minds are fixed on pelf and place
To cringe before the rich man's frown,
And haul the sacred emblem down.
Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
With heads uncovered swear we all
To bear it onward till we fall;
Come dungeons dark or gallows grim,
This song shall be our parting hymn.
Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
