Hi Louis, The idea of the Welfare state can trace its recent history back to 1942, when the war time government aske William Beveridge to kook at the idea.
He put forward proposal but due to the war it was put on hold.
Beveridge was a Liberal, so it was his idea, and it was not opposed by the Tories.

here we have the Community Policeman and Woman walking together down my avenue around twice a week.
and also the Police van or car around at least once a week.
Again it is now a high crime area since inviting these migrants in. When it was just a nice English suburb everyone was decent people, It was a very nice place to live. but not anymore.
The situation will get worse and worse with more migrants pouring in.
Our traditional nice, well kept suburbs with lovely well kept gardens and people taking a pride in the avenues has now gone forever, migrants don't do gardens, A garden is just a space to throw their Rubbish in, They turn lovely areas into cess pits.

Democracy in its finest form, a Caucasian sex offender has been given a longer prison sentence because he attacked an asian girl, and the judge ruled that this would have a greater affect on that community than any other. Does this idiot not read the papers were most gangs running brothels, abducting and raping young caucasian girls are themselves Asians, so that's alright then!.

I am trying to be fair and open minded but cannot think of one single policy the Tories have introduced that has improved the lives of the common man or woman.
Please enlighten me.
On the subject of refugees and migrants they are not fleeing from natural disasters, floods, famine, earthquakes etc. but man made disaster. No war no refugees.
Send your letters of complaint to Bush, Cheney and the traitor Blair but do not expect a reply.
Syria, the Russians offered, three years ago to have President Assad stand down in a peace effort. This was rejected by U.S., Britain and France. The war continues.

There are already restrictions on benefits paid to people coming here from within the EU.
Asylum Seeker or Refugee a difference what benefits you will get.There are currently 2000 Syrians in Liverpool although it is said that figure is grossly under quoted.
An asylum seeker is given a house with all the bills paid and £5.00 per day to live on.They are not allowed to work.
A refugee does not receive any benefits what so ever,they would have to be totally self sufficient,get their own accommodation and pay for it themselves.The reason a refugee would want todo this is he can apply for a NI.Number and go to work.I wonder will all these refugees suddenly become asylum seekers once they know they cannot claim benefits with the status of refugee.

ivan I totally agree Asian men will not attack Asian girls because Asian men will serve out proper justice on the man but the poor girls are likely to be killed by her own family that's the way they are there is no honour in honour killings? jp

Jamal Muhammed Raheem-ul -nasir does not sound or look very Caucasian.

He is not Caucasian,the reason he got a longer sentence was because of the effect it would have on an Asian girl.So had it been a white British girl would he have received a lesser sentence.
