How is yours
Melbourne has been voted the worlds most liveable city for the 4th year in a row, and the 7th time in the last 10 years. Iit is based on number of things, education, health care, public transport, ease of access, diversity of eating styles, hotels and accomodation and number of other areas.
Melbourne is a good place to liive and grows daily, with a population of some 3 million and anticipated to reach 6 by the middle of the century.
How is your home town or city?
Apart from getting rid of the local councillors or government what would you like to see done to make it more liveable?
Vancouver in Canada was runner up, sorry about that Den.

Edinburgh is my home city, a wonderful place at this time of year. The Festival is on as is the Military Tattoo, thousands of visitors, wonderful.
to make it better I would get rid of Alex Salmond and his cronies, and the bliddy Trams.

The Caliphate of Boltonis tan, is a wonderful place to live. with its diversity of peoples., Mos ks, temples and ancient ruins of churches. The food restaraunts and shops are wonderful, a lovely display of Polish, Rumanian, Halal, and indian cruseines, The clothing from a wide variety of cultures of the Khyber regions create a colourful display of black nikabs. you do not even need to speak English, every language is also here, even the cries of the muezedin from the top of the towers of the 32 mo sks echoing around the hills that surround us, reminicent of those wonderful hills of afghanistan
One does not need to travel abroad, think of the money you will save, because all the world is here for you to sample.
Yes, the caliphate of Bolt onis tan is a wonderful place to live,
Es Salaam u-alakum

Brian
I recall reading/seeing a poll result some time earlier this year where Bolton was voted as having the happiest inhabitants of any place in the U.K.
Did you take part in this poll?

Re: How is yours
I live fairly close to Bolton, and have to agree with Kong regarding the diversity of that popular borough. When the wind is right, we can share in the richness of the culture- exotic aromas of the East wafting our way, and sometimes one can hear the muzzeim calling the worshipful to prayer with the uplifting '' Does the Mo--ue clock stand at ten to three? and is there curry, still for tea?'' (with apologies to Rupert Brooke).

Hi John A
I never took part in a Poll, knew nothing about it.
I can believe it is the happiest place in Britain. the population have got free houses, cars, and free money , they are already in Paradise so they have no need for car bombs to get there.
Cheers
Brian

...And of course Kong, those happy people with a bent for instaneous combustion will always have their 72 virgins awaiting in Paradise. ( Just a thought, what if mustapha was batting for the other side, would his reward be in the form of a testosterone bursting crew of 72, or would the eunuch option kick in.)

That's ok John.
Vancouver is a beautiful city, but glad I don't live there.
Happy here on Vancouver Island. God's country.
Congratulations to Melbourne.
