Fancy a Bottle of Water?
Not in London. A businessman ordered three bottles of water in the Wellesley Hotel in London after 4:00 pm., the bottles will cost yo 60p in a supermarket. In the Hotel they charge £75 for the three.
Apparently after 4pm the minimum charge per person is £25 per person. A spokesman for the Hotel, stated " we are doing no different from any other London Hotel".
The businessman stated "that he didn't want to create a fuss as he was with a client at the time". What would you have done?
I would have raised the roof.

Re: Fancy a Bottle of Water?
you are looking at a 5 star luxury boutique hotel in Knightsbridge afternoon tea is from £35 - £80 per head and a suite on offer is £1500 a night with dinner , and it is true , they are no different from any other hotel in that class and area , my pint of Guinness in the long bar raffles Singapore was £13 in 2009 . If you frequent those places you know what to expect , why use the facilities , there is a great buffet on Waterloo station . Me , I would have put the receipt in , and would only have used the hotel for a prestige client meeting . If you want to Hob-Knob then expect the costs associated

Re: Fancy a Bottle of Water?
Will have to keep you out of our Posh places here Lou! LOL!
We have a few (possibly 3 at most) who charge like there is no tomorrow!
But that's just for the Visitors that flock here on Weekends!
We locals just go to either the Local Pub for Lunch /Dinner or one of the other more normally priced Restaurants even the Fish and Chip Shop here is OK!
Cheers

Re: Fancy a Bottle of Water?
I went out with some Irish friends for a drink and a meal to celebrate their Father's 80th birthday, Sean the patriarch of the family insisted on getting the first round of drinks in. Everybody had asked for the usual beer, wine etc. except Gillian who had asked for water, Sean's response was I asked if you wanted a drink not a wash!

The father was obviously well trained by some of my friends who correctly said, He who buys first saves $10,000 per year.

Re: Fancy a Bottle of Water?
The best tasting water I ever had was in the Antarctic,
I got a chunk of ice from a glacier, and put a piece in a glass of whisky, it Fissed.
then I melted what was left, had a drink of it, a lovely taste, and put it in a bottle, I brought some home home to drink,
We get used to tap water here, and it is full of chemicals and stuff the government puts in, like fluoride, thought control chemicals and things like that
The Glacier water was 12,000 years old and just pure.
Cheers
