Ford Falcon Wagon.2007Model
Just one week ago i bought a ford falcon second hand, pristeen condition low ks.Drove into kempsey yesterday to colect the insurance rebate of my camper van i sold just yesterday to my mechanic who serviced my van since new,4030 thousand ks on the clock had lots of good times traveling around Australia.Bought it new in 93.To get back to the ford, i visited the RTA to change ownership of camper. On ariving back at the Woolies car park i noticed staight off a ding above the left rear light on close inspection i discovered the left rear light had cracks and also the ding being at an angle had also cracked the right hand rear light. The maggot who did it was long gone and i am now left with a repair bill of around two grand. What a low life this charictor must be who can do some thing like this and just drive away.Hope the Moron loses his nuts in a vice like grip, and swallows his own ringpiece.Thats the end of my Rant. Cheers Charlie.

Sadly charlie this is all too often the case in supermarket car parks. RACV told me that about 50% of the claims they get is for just what yopu got. we had our car,'shopping trolleyed' earlier in the year, cost me over $600 to get fixed.Ford no longer make those vehicles any more, theyw ere peculiar to Oz and now they are going off shore the end is in sight for them.

You know Charlie you may have inadvertently saved me from making an expensive decision. I priced a new Kia today, it has all the mod cons, bells and whistles, whereas my 1998 Daiwoo a trusty and reliable vehicle is a lame duck compared to a RIO. The Daiwoo costs nothing to run and my mobile mechanic reckons it's good for a few more years, The horror of paying out thousands for a tail light assembly on a modern car is astonishing.
Thanks mate your rant did not fall on deaf ears. My best regards.

Charlie, have you checked with Woolies to see if they have surveillance cameras and if so go from there.

Re: Ford Falcon Wagon.2007Model
I had a Ford Escort 2 weeks old (company car)I went upto the Lake District ,Hawshead, just paid the man at the car park entrance when the clutch went (yes 2 weeks old).My wife got in the driving seat the key must've been switched off so she had no control over the steering as I was pushing and she hit a back light on a car and broke it.I was waiting for the local garage to come and to tow it away when the man who owned the car with the broken light turned up I approached him and told him i was responsible,he could'nt believe his luck. When we swapped ins:details turned out his was a company car also and he was the Principal Engineer for a well known Civil Engineers.I thought no more about it a little job of a back light. It must've been about 4 months later my boss collared me "whats this big crash you had in the Lake district" big crash I said,I broke a guys back light. The claim was unbelievable,I just forget the full details ,it was a metalic sprayed car so i believe you cant patch it its a full respray and the there was the hire of a car whilst it was off the road.I wonder if he had a further accident after me and did'nt catch the culprit so he put it down to me.Had i known it was a company car and he was going to pull a trick like that I would'nt have owned up to it.the price of being honest.
Regards.

Re: Ford Falcon Wagon.2007Model
I still have my trusty 2003 VW Golf Generation, was also thinking of updating to a newer Golf GT ,but this one is still in such good nick and also very economical,so will stay with what I have!
On Parking I always drive around the Car Parks until I get a space with only one side to open the other against the wall! Helps some!
Cheers

Jim
My mechanic mates tells me that metallic paintwork is the easiest to patch in so that full respray was most likely another insurance scam.
Now
To anyone buying a new car.
Do not be fooled into paying extra for the fancy LED lights they are fitting to cars these days, they are a rip off.
If and when the LED's go it will probably cost you somewhere in the region of £300 to replace as you have to replace the whole unit.
Not having LED's means that should a bulb blow then a quick trip to Halfords and for around £3 they will replace the bulb for you.
Hint
Send the missus with the car to get the bulb replaced as you will not want to look a right plonker when you have to admit to the 17 year girl apprentice who took around 2 minutes to change the bulb, that you had tried but after 30mins struggle trying to find the correct screw to undo, you gave up and came to Halfords.
