here in spain the youth unemployment rate is about 24% and adult rate is higher than the UK.One of my neighbours sons finished his degree,couldnt get a job so went to the UK.Got a job in a cold storage wharehouse together with other foreigners.Apparently the locals wouldn't take the job.Did that for 2 years and is now living in Germany and has a reasonable job.
The UK isn't the worst place in Europe for unemployment.
Hi shipmates As most of us know , jobs today go to the cheapest workers {British Merchant navy} was one of the first to find this out followed by the miners and steelworkers textiles and the car industry. That is the real reason no proper jobs in the U.K All governments sell out to the highest bidder, So whats is the future for the U,K, NOT good.......

hi Cappy, iparked near our local Food Bank to observe our Poor People. I was shocked at the Poverty I saw.
I have been everywhere and no where have I seen such suffering,.
Disgraceful it was, Could not believe what I saw.

Big Fat young men and women , fags in their mouths and mobile phones in their hands, dragging their kids with them.
I felt so sorry for them as they came out carrying big bags of food. that they had no need to pay for.
I was so happy that I was just a Pensioner and didnt need to do that.
What is this nation coming to .
They have to pay nearly £8 for a packet of cigs, soon we will have Ciggy Banks,
I really do not know how my Dad coped in the 30s when he had no job, no benefits, three kids.
Today is far worse than that I feel so sorry for them having to have their their Rent Paid, Council Tax Paid, and many other things to claim for. that I as a Pensioner cannot claim for. I cannot go to a Food Bank as I have to prove I am on Benefit.

brian thats vthe truth of the matterb ...yes there are honest people desperate for work but that is the world over ......sadly the benefits system in this country is abused by large numbers of people ...not all immigrants iether .......as for food banks ....i agree ciggies in one hand ...whle he sits outside with a bottkle of white lightningand a pair of 50 quid nike trainers on his mobile phone ...i have seen it .......nothing worse than being out of work i have been there......they can shove there charity up there ar.e.....nobody should get benefits unless they are willing to put something in the kitty......one woman i know has 4 kids of diferent shades .....has never worked and has what can only be described as a decent life style food heat rent and other benefits peyed for by me you and any bugger else.....if louis thinks its bad were wuld he suggest going and why do millions want to come here.......its the old story of its my rights my benefits are.....cappy

There was a report in the papers a few weeks ago from the guy who founded foods banks and his organisation oversees the running of them. He was appalled at the way they are abuse these days.
Apparently all you have to do is go to the your kids nursery and say you have no money, no food and they give you a voucher.
The local Food banks are part of the Trussell Trust national network of Foodbanks.The Foodbanks are non-judgemental and inclusive, providing assistance to people of all backgrounds and all faiths or none who are found to be in genuine need. All the food that is distributed by the Foodbank has been donated by people within the community and by various local churches and sorted by volunteers.Who can receive food parcel? Anyone in a crisis!For example: • Unemployment • Benefit Changes & Delays • Refused Crisis Loan •Delayed Wages • Debt • Homelessness • Low Income • Sickness Domestic Violence • Child Holiday Meals • Other problems Who issues Food Vouchers? Frontline care professionals such as doctors, council & social workers,Sure Start Children’s Centres & church pastoral workers identify people in a crisis and issue a food voucher. Clients receive three days of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food in exchange for their food voucher.
Locally there is collections at all the local Supermarkets , and hey they have a surplus of soup and beans . It is non judgemental . Do not judge lest you be judged , I know some chancers take a food bank voucher because their cash has gone on drugs . My head says let the bludgers starve , but because they are , what they are , should their children starve too . I would rather feed ten bludgers than let one honest person starve , as much as I hate saying that , that is how I feel , I am starving because my fags and cider costs £100 a week and the dole gives me £55 , is not what I would want to hear . But I know a few genuine cases , who would rather do anything than claim , Hard one , I agree with Brian to an extent , but know there is genuine needs , and as an engineer , I doi not actually know the circumstances , so I would have to have a blind eye if I ran the banks
