Re: Where did you say?
HI All.
Born in a little Village called Garden Village near Swansea Wales. Went to live in NZ in 57 Auckland then Christchurch then back to Auckland, then in 72 moved to Sydney then in 2005 moved back to NZ Whangarei then in 2010 moved to Cooma N.S.W where we will now stay until the next move.
Been back to the UK twice last time in 1992 or there about.
Changes in the place I was born, the Village has been inundated with housing the village green built on as well as every single piece of farm land they could find, so bad my sister who lives just seven miles away hasn't been back in forty years.

Re: Where did you say?
Des hope you weren't mates with her with the red hair. Remember the oil Production plant in Whangerei. Was miles back from the nearest pub, wasn't so bad going, long way staggering back. Remember one night standing at the bar and this bloke came and stood next to me and got on talking, thought he"s a nice friendly bloke, he then asked if I was enjoying the beer and then proceeded to give me a lecture on the evils of drink, was one of these born again Christians or something, sounded to me like an ex alchi, none so pure as the purified, he got short shift. We were allowed 3 months on the coast then as British flag, used to get as far as bluff. Then up to Newcaste NSW for tank cleaning. Ship was the Laurelwood one of J.I.J.. about 1974 Cheers John Sabourn

.
I was wearing a steaming revvy and a souwester then Cappy.
I would have looked a right pillock working on deck in a Davy Crocket Hat.
