I can and have flown right across Australia to get to the best place, the one with the long white cloud. I have relis in Australia, and friends, but its nice to visit , but not for me to live. I already live in the finest country in the world, despite all its faults, and moans (and i know , i do my share of that) regards KT

The skipper(captain Hedley )conviscated our be which was bought with the proceeds of a morning hangover whipround and after pelting him with spuds I wandered off with no intention of re-boarding until said booze was returned.The dock police had other ideas and after a serious tussle dragged me to the foot of the gangplank and pushed me down aboard.

Hi Shipmates, Aussie is a great place, I was nearly a £10 pom? But I went to sea, a Good Choice!!! world - wide travel and good times my school friend Ron spent a few years there working in the outback in some mine? to have a good time try putting snakes into each others beds {Dorms} maybe a few cans on the weekend? All he did was save money and dream of going home to the U.K. After 6 years in the outback, he saw a few towns around the coast with his money soon all gone, he saved enough for a ticket for a flight home ... He is still here would he go back???? 6 years work took no money home ? but had a wild time ... Would I go back to sea? where do I sign on?

Never heard of the term of oveners for those living on the IOW. Wooden tops for the Danes and suchlike, Frogs for the French, Huns for Germans, Eyeties for Italians, Ruskis for Russians, Brits for Brits. Still learning when it comes to overners. Cheers John Sabourn
We mainlanders are the overners , the Isle of Wight natives are caulk heads . I love the Island , before the ferry docks you actually go through a time gate that takes you backwards ten years or so , My late wife and I used to take several weekends at the Sandringham hotel in Sandown throughout the winter season . It is very relaxing over there
