Brian, bloody disgraceful what could he have done to be treated like that just appalling? I read he was good chums with Prince Charles, why did he not pull some strings?

As Milligan was not born in the United Kingdom, his claim to British nationality was never clear. Milligan himself felt that he was entitled to a British passport after having served in the army for six years. His passport application, however, was refused, primarily because he would not swear an Oath of Allegiance and his Irish ancestry gave him an escape route from his stateless condition. He became an Irish citizen and remained so until his death.

His mother spent years living in Woy Woy in NSW Australia, Spike spent many years here as well.

my daughter has a house in Woy Woy and she tells me that the bar that Spike used to drink in has a plaque in his memory.
