Sanctions.

I have them in my avenue with the BHURKA on.They all have two cars and no jobs.
How do they do it?
**** has a silver Mercedes and a gold Toyota, in the last few months he has New Gas Boiler and Radiators, and cavity wall and loft insulation, Cannot work, he has a Bad Back so he tells me tho` I see him doing jobs in his garden. Got three kids, that should do his bad back good goosing his brains loose.
He has been over here for almost eight years, I bet they dont call him in.
How does he do all that, I couldnt afford it. my radiators are 40 years old and my gas boiler is twelve years old and my car is eight years old.
Maybe I should go to Calais and stow away on a lorry. and come back in.
With my luck it would be a lorry going to Rumania.

Please tell us where.Incidently I am not moaning that I cant get a job (I was also doing a bit when I was 67) I am talking about the under 24's of which there is over 1 million of them that cant get a job.

When I got to 58 I stopped wanting a Job so I retired , I wish there was more out there for my Grandchildren though .

Anthony, this one large ship, with one large crew and one large messroom table where-at all manner of things are discussed. When you were at sea sitting around the mess or saloon table did you just discuss things maritime, that must have been entertaining!. The overall scenario for this site is to draw Merchant Navy personnel together and by its very being it has done that, and we welcome all onboard. All you need is a sense of humour, sense of dismay, sense of disgust, the ability to moan, the ability to recall your memories and the ability to join in if you want to, normally without casting aspersions on others.

Perhaps a list of ships and time period (50's 60's 70's etc)would be helpful and then it would allow us to understand your apparent frustration at our moans, you can always type 'Jokes' in the search engine if you want lighter moments, moaning is all part of growing old, we like it, and incidentally I worked until I was 73, but doubt I could get a job tomorrow, not that I would want one
