I was lucky with my travel Insurance, The hospital bill in Honolulu came to over
$35,000, they have paid them directly,
The Hotel stay for Anne and later me, I paid $3000, and the 22 days of a 28 day cruise was refunded, and also we got a First Class ticket to Fly to Manchester from Honolulu around £7,000 and a Chaufer car to drive us home from the Airport.
I then recieved a cheque for over £6,000 for what I had spent on the vacation.
It has been the only good deal I have ever had from an Insurance Company.
Cheers
Brian.

House Insurance.
I was getting no joy whatsoever from insurance company with whom my combi boiler is insured with.Sent an e.mail last Thursday telling them that if I didn't hear from them by Monday I would be passing it over to somebody else to deal with.No joy so I phoned BBC Radio Merseyside this morning, they have a help line. They took it on and within the past hour I've had about 4 phone calls from the insurance company they cant get an engineer here quick enough, great result.
Regards.

House Insurance.
I like to take these companies on.My wife bought a three piece suite before Christmas on delivery we found faults with it enough to say it was not what we paid for.It was from a big store which is always advertising on the TV.I went on line and got the shock of my life to see all the complaints against the company and the customers disgust in the way in which their complaints were being dealt with (or not dealt with) its a pity I never went on line and checked them out before making the purchase.I advised my wife to get it on a credit card or HP as you always have a bit of a sway rather than having paid cash, anyway she paid cash for it so I thought we wont get much joy here. Some of the complaints talked about sending people to the house and carrying out alterations which I wanted no part of,I wanted it uplifting and a replacement.I made a few phone calls but nobody was interested I was getting nowhere.I sent a letter to their HO informing them that if I did not receive a replacement suite to my satisfaction I would picket their store with placards advising people not to shop there. That soon brought a response and I got what I wanted.
Regards.

I know how you managed that, you threatened to send **** over there to sort them out.
But it is good to know you got it all sorted, and well.

Not sure about UK but here in Oz we get a plethora of advertising for funeral plans and life insurance. Not a day goes by without one funeral company or another on TV or radio.
'The cost is less than you think, no more than the cost of a cup of coffee once a week. You will get a guarenteed payout of up to $30,000 and no medicval if you are under 75'.
Sounds good, that is until you sign up and find out that the premiums go up each year. That cup of coffee cna soon be the cost of a bottle of scotch. But they still get suckers each week.
