This time the press lost!
I have just received this in facebook, and have amended it so it can be posted it here:
This is the last minute of an ABC radio interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove (an Australian General) who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military Headquarters.
And regardless of how you feel about gun laws you have to love this! This is one of the best comeback lines of all time.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?
GENERAL COSGROVE: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?
GENERAL COSGROVE: I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?
GENERAL COSGROVE: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers.
GENERAL COSGROVE:Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?
The radiocast went silent for 46 seconds and when it returned, this interview was over.

Some of those female interviewers are so sensetive I think, no sense of adventure.

Women
I have nothing against women, in fact I love them all, the ugly ones a bit less I suppose. However I often wonder at the intellect of some of them, i.e. the ones that to want emulate men in every walk of life, The ones who shout equality, I doubt if my wife has ever felt unequal in fact just the opposite I suppose. I am pleased we grew up in a different era. Women and men are different there is no way you can change the facts of life even though there seems to be a larger number these days going into same sex partners. Must be something in the water. A woman is built different, has different emotions, different muscle powers in general. She is built for child bearing, a man is not. Why some insist on wanting to be on the battlefield where killing is your trade, I fail to understand. Anybody who has had to take a life in anger has to live with that the rest of their life and most will always regret having to do, even though it was a necessity. A man is less likely to hesitate on pulling a trigger and stronger physically in hand combat. There are of course exceptions to every rule. I can see it is only time before the equal brigade is out shouting for mixed football teams and mixed this and that in every other sports. Who knows will soon find mixed public urinals in western society, although believe some countrys have always had. I scratch my head at times. I think the rejoiner that the Army General made was an excellent answer, was only a pity she did not answer. Cheers John Sabourn.

Interviews
I am an advocate of life interviews. This to some extent stops the program makers of editing the material and putting whatever slant on the story they want. They can make or break a persons character at will. Some I am sure relish this power they have. To these people in the media world who do such, I would class as about on par with some of our more useless politicians. They have the same inherent instincts to move and manipulate people to their way of thinking. However believe most persons now being better educated take everything they read in our free press with a pinch of salt, as a lot of the media have lost their credability. Regards John Sabourn

John they have them here but they are toilets without seats kinda like a bidet, quite intriguing. Knew some ladies once who insisted they could use a urinal so we put them to the test, yes it was hysterical but na it was a shambles (: Like you our relationship is one of equals however she never admits she is wrong nor pays up on bets she loses & of course often it is one is more equal than I ): Richard

Then we have the issue of the 'glass celling' where there is a deficiency of females in some parts of the work force. Our leader, Gillard the Goose, wants to see a mandated number fo females in top jobs. Forgive me if I sound a bit silly, but should it not be the case of ability, not gender, that determines is you are suited to the position? But who is she to make such statements when all she had was a big knife to get the job.

Glass Ceiling
You are very right, John. I saw the glass ceiling (or how to be politically correct and ignore common sense) in action a few years ago. A lady university graduate with TWO degrees took over the Training department in a government controlled company that I used to work for. After a few months the whole department was a mess, all of us were arranging training for our own staff whilst the Training department seemed to be more interested in "Team Builds", "Mission Statements" and "Blue Sky Thinking" than actually doing the job they were paid to do.
Many of us raised the issue with the site director, but he actually told us his hands were tied behind his back due to governmental "Politics". Thankfully the lady stopped wasting public money by moving onto better things in private industry and slowly the Training department went back to what it was set up to do -to train people and keep acurate records of the training we had all done.
OK rant over!

Hi John S
Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe Ma Gleason's back in the sixties had mixed public tiolets, many a time I went in and found a Maori woman squatting down in the urinals, unless she was wanting me to wash her hair.
cheers Des
