A friend of mine and I were going shopping in our local mall. My friend Don is a robust looking guy (he being a one-time American football player). He has a heart condition and so has a handicap sticker on his car, and he parked in the last handicapped parking space. As we climbed out of the car some busy body looking for a parking place, rolled down his window and shouted to Don, "You don't look handycapped?" Don immediately yelled back..."Yes I am, I'm blind!"...That's the first time I ever saw a jaw drop.

    Cheers, Rodney

    Hi All.
I feel sorry for all you blokes, down here in Cooma it's holiday time and everyone deserts the place, as it is snow season most of them opt for freezing thier B$*%s off down in the Alps, or rush up to Sydney to watch the ******s demonstrate about the prophet being insulted, and small children holding up placards saying behead those who insult the prophet.
Meanwhile a photo doing the rounds shows Gina Rinehart the billionheiress holding up a placard saying behead all those who insult the profit.
While all are away the staff in Woolworths are filling the shelves with Xmas cheer. Sorry Les.
    Cheers Des

Think hibernation time is very close Des. Actually showed the sheriff that I can do shopping as we ventured to the local extortion centre and I actually purchased three pairs of shorts. Took all of two minutes and now that is me set for about two decades. Sheriff thought she was on a roll and tried to steer me to T shirts but that is for next year maybe.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Apologies for the slow response Brian.

OBs Commandoes was the name given to the Deck Boys who had left the Blue Funnel Deck School(Odyssey Works) Birkenhead and did several trips around the land before going foreign. They were so well trained by the Bosun Instructor, Dennis O'Brian (OB) that those young men walked aboard and knew their stuff from day one. It was uncanny the way they knew there way around. Mind you throughout their training they were aboard China Boats at Vittoria Dock ( a couple of hundred yards from the school) several times a week.
They were 'old timers' before they started. No room for baggage on those ships.

The lady in the local service station is just back from holiday in Queensland with her kids. What did she tell me, 'Never going there aging during school holidays it is full of feral kids'. Now you know what it is like I told her.

Further thoughts on my previous. The China boats used to dry dock at the Barclay Curle facility, Elderslie on the Clyde. During the shoring process these young Deck Boys where a great help. Apparently, this process was re-inacted many times in Odyssey works prior to them joining their first ship. I'm sure John Pruden can expand this.
