The Hillsborough Independent panel's report found 164 police statements were altered, 116 of them to remove or alter "unfavourable" comments about the policing of the match and the unfolding disaster.
A snapshot in time. I have no idea how many police were on duty in close proximity to the ground so could not attempt to say what the percentage was that lied but the above looks suspiciously like conspiracy and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
I think there is more corruption in the police than any of us realise. I hope I am never called upon to do jury service.
although many of us would like to see the death penalty come back after the way the police had acted over this case we should and could not have it in the name of justice? JP
tell me what law can imprison a man for 7 years without charge for being an alleged terrorist and yet an alleged child killer has to be charged within so many hours or released it dos not make sense to me? jp
Maybe if they had released him the women of the village would have made him tell them where the little girl is.
I remember them during WW 2 arresting the odd Irish man of No Fixed Abode. Some were old but they were respected and rode bikes not cars. Never recall seeing one over weight. In the US there are very few slim ones and u hardly ever see them out of their cars unless it is in a donut shop. They get moonlighting jobs not that they are underpaid, and that annoys me. Is this done in the Uk? Most are OK but I would much rather have the RCMP. The mounties were the best police I have seen.
Hi shipmates,The british bobby was a great member of the commuity years ago, My scout master was one a policeman a sargent on the desk at canton police station who help us all grow up to be non criminals and taught us respect for others, He was strict but fair to us all , We all learned a lot from him , He passed away some years ago but the scouting movement today could do with many like Mr Price he was a piillar of his local commuity!!! and help many young boys into work and the services, he should have had some-kind of award .For doing much more than his duty. Thank you Mr Price

. Hi John,
Police corruption, in Liverpool,
Read the book Cameo Conspiracy, by George Skelly, and the way a man was found guilty and hanged, George Kelly, Charles Connolly forced to sign a confession that sealed their fates. Witnesses paid to give evidence against them, a Defence witness sent off to sea so he missed giving evidence to save Kelly.
all done by Inspector Balmer, he beat me up in my own home.
Then there was the Burns and Devlin case where two young lads were executed for a murder they did not commit, in Cranbourne Road, a year later. a carbon copy of the Cameo Murders, Witnesses for the prosecution paid to give evidence against the two lads.
We campaigned for a long time to clear the names of George Kelly and Charles Connolly which we did at the Criminal Court of Appeal in London. I am in the book.
Cheers
Brian.
The police dont do themselves any favours as regards getting the general public on their side.We hear of many occassions where common sense on the side of the policeman would've done more good rather than turning an upstanding member of the public against him.Just a quiet word and send a person on their way for some minor or trivial matter instead of the heavy handed action taken by some.Just this morning a woman phoned in to our local radio station relating to an incident concerning her son and the sons girlfriend last night. As we all know last night was bonfire night the couple (both 24years of age the young lady being a school teacher sons job I dont know)went to the local park where there was a bonfire, they let off a rocket or two when two policemen arrived and told them that they were not allowed to let off their own fireworks as children were around, fireworks should be let off at their home. They agreed to that and asked for their fireworks back so that they could do this,no said the policeman I have now confiscated them and you are not getting them back.Thats bad enough but what happened next is worse, the young man protested and was told in no uncertain terms that if he did not shut up and go away he would be arrested, that to me is disgusting. It makes you cynical and makes you wonder did that policeman take those fireworks home for his kids!!!.I know that the Chief Constable of Merseyside Police listens to the radio programme every day so I hope he heard this and takes it further with the Constable concerned.
The election for Police Commissioner takes place shortly,I wont be voting as most probably another 80% of the population wont be.It has cost £10million to set this up and people are still none the wiser of what its about and what the background of the candidates are.The salary for this post could be £100.000 p.a. but that wont end there as the commissioner will also require an office and with that office the staff to run it.They are taking the bobby off the beat because we dont have any money to pay them, how many policemen would this new exercise pay for.The candidates who have applied and put themselves up for election dont even know what their remit is yet.
Regards.

I shall vote for our Police Commissioner , I have not a clue which candidate to vote for yet , but I believe that we should exercise our right to vote . The current watchdog bodies use, on average, nine per cent of their funds in salary and pensions for their chief executives. And police authority members claimed more than £10 million in allowance last year, the study by the TaxPayers’ Alliance found. On average, members take some £14,100 home each year, it said. The figures come as police forces across the country are facing cuts of up to 20 per cent over four years, which will result in the loss of thousands of officers.Police authorities will be scrapped and replaced by directly elected police and crime commissioners, who will act as the watchdog for forces.“The introduction of elected police commissioners will ensure that the police are taken to task by elected representatives, and have to respond to the public's priorities, which doesn't always happen under the current system. I would rather have an elected representative than someones old cronie that was there for the expenses , and at the average pay quoted there will be a saving over the current system
My Choice for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are:
Conservative ., Lib Dem , Labour , UKIP , Independent , Anti corruption party , So there is plenty of choice , two of them are past Chairmen of the local Police authority , one has a brother who is a policeman , one is an ex special constable ,
Wheer I shall put ,my X I do not know , but stick it somewhere I will
