    Default Unaffordable Politicians

How much do bad governments cost the country. It must be astronomical. Apart from all other mistakes errors bad policy etc. over the past few years with the present presiding government of this country, the present debacle witnessed by the rest of the world, would to me be embarrasing. However I suppose to governments they are answerable to no one, so they have no conscience whatsoever. The ongoing subject of illegal immigrants or as the bleeding hearts call them the boat refugees. After not being able to solve they get 3 well known faces, call them experts, and the answer is what they have known all along to do but wouldnt. They could have taken 3 people off the street and as long as they didnt have green political beliefs have arrived with the same answer, this they would have received free gratis. Who do they think they are fooling, why did they ever dismantle what was already there? Any government coming in after this lot, will have to examine the books very minutely, that is if they havent burnt any incriminating evidence before departing. This was the normal thing during war so as to not fall into enemy hands I suppose. We will never get the truth of the amounts this bad management has cost the taxpayers of this country as that information will probably go with them to the grave. It really annoys me when they have to bring in outsiders to do what they should be doing as a so called elected government. regards John Sabourn

I must agree with you John. Hardly any politician is knowledgeable in anything, all they have is a good way with words. They never answer a question directly, or correctly without altering course to another subject. To me that is a sign of deception and dishonestly. They are more than frugal with the truth, and intentionally misconstrue facts to their own advantage.

As I previously posted, they are only in it for one thing, themselves, everything else comes last. They are after all nothing special, and I believe that the majority of people in this country could make 100% better decisions and run this country far better than this load of self opinionated, greedy and unfeeling people of all three major parties.

The problem is, they are in charge, so the answer lies in our own hands and we must reverse this at the next opportunity. They wont lose out if they are kicked out, they will have made sure their nests are feathered and will retire into wealth and comfort that the majority of us will never know. B liar is a good example of this.
Things must change for the sake of our children and grandchildren and it must be down to us to do it.

    Default It amazes me

What never ceases to amaze me is the number of specialist consultancies that politicians at all levels from local to national, employ.
You would think that within your local council employees and our civil service there would be enough expertise to come up with the answer to all questions asked by the dumbos in power and also to be able to formulate correct policies without the need to resort to consultancies, think tanks etc.
But hey suppose our own industry is no shining example of self practise, just look at the number of marine consultancies world wide.

anyone with an army of think tanks and advisors could be a politition, our Goverment have an army of the, costs millions, but do they take the advice given ? ? ? or in the end just there own ideas are practiced, ? Cameron seems to heed little advice, and as they dont live in our world, how can they understand the problems, ? now Train Fares will rise above inflation, also Fuel again after Christmas, but our Salaries stay the same, just squeezed more, railways should be nationalised. why is it in good times fuel duty never goes down, ? taxes just rise forever, its ok if you are on an MP,s salary, there Rail Fares get claimed back on expenses, must be fantastic to go to and from work free of charge , we cant. unless we live and work locally, use a bike,

The average rail fare across eUROPE is around £600 or less.
In the UK Rail fares for the same distance are around £3,500 and they are going to put it up again.
So we go by car and they are banging more Tax on petrol /diesel.
So what do they do with the extra Tax??? give it to the Islamic Terrorists in Syria. Body Armour and radios etc.
Our Troops in Afghanistan who are fighting the self same terrorists are desperately short of that equipment.
    .
As I have said before, there must be some way to have our Politicians Certified Insane and then locked away, they cannot be allowed to behave like Nutters across the world with OUR MONEY.

HELLO BRIAN,a waste of time complaining, they dont listen anway, we put them in, so now they do as they please with no redress, just go on helping India , Pakistan and other countries that are so corrupt. more suicide Bombings in Afghanistan today, and we like idiots are helping there, the Russians were glad to leave there, even with there mighty armies, how can Cameron expect us to keep paying more ?especially in the worst recession known here.i went to the shop yesterday, bought milk, tea , sugar. bread and 5 bananas, in Tesco, £8 spent, just living alone costs a fortune, a basket filled in tesco with basic food items around £20 now, i watched a program on Sunday i think, about food banks in the UK, people who are working cannot support there families with food, a married woman whos husband was doing his army training was having cereal for her only meal so she could feed her children, the people responsible for the food distribution said they cannot keep up with demand, all from genuine people, never thought i would see this happen in the UK. it was shown how much basic items have gone up recently, far beyond the fiddled inflation rates the goverment show us.

Was just pondering what life at sea would have been like if we had behaved like the pollies. Bosun comes into the mess and says to us all that he wants us to chip the fore deck. No worries would be the reply we will just form a commitee to see what postions each of us will play. Once that has been decided we will then ask our advisors if we have the correct equipment and safety standards are in force. Will also have to get in touch with Sparks to get a weather forecast in case of inclement weather conditions. We will get back to you with our answer once we can form a corrum to vote on the outcome late in the week. Could just imagine the reply from the Bosun.

About the illigals it has been one big stuff up I know and none of the party's can hold there heads up over it. Myself I still can not see what the problem was with sending illigals back to Malysia because in my way of thinking we would have sent 800 individuals back and taken 2000 in from Malaysia. Surely just the logistics of those numbers would mean that there would be more refugees coming to Aus at the expense of those that are cheating the system. Not to mention stopping the boats and also saving lives in the long run. Still those are the results of having p1ss weak pollies in all party's run by the hysterical media.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Default Gratitude to the Merchant Navy: then.

When the victory was won and the enemy vanquished the thanks of the nation were forthcoming. On 30 October 1945 the Houses of Parliament unanimously carried the following resolution expressing gratitude to the Merchant Navy on the victorious end of the war :

"That the thanks of this House be accorded to the officers and men of the Merchant Navy for the steadfastness with which they maintained our stocks of food and materials ; for their services in transporting men and munitions to all battles over all the seas, and for the gallantry with which, through a civilian service, they met and fought the constant attacks of the enemy."

The Right Honourable Alfred Barnes, Minister of War Transport said :

"The Merchant Seaman never faltered. To him we owe our preservation and our very lives."

Someone should send this to the new kids on the block at number 19 ?

    Default Honourable

Someone must know when politicians got this title of the Honourable so and so, I cant think of any one of them that I would addess as such. As those few people who are up in arms about some politician calling one of ours a cane toad, I would say this was disrespectful to the animal in question, you can hear name calling any day in the parliament much worse than this on both sides of the house. What a bunch. Cheers John Sabourn

    Hi John.
AT LAST SOMETHING IS BEING DONE. All the politicians in Canberra have blood on thier hands, of that there is no doubt. A boat with 60 Palistinians has been missing for about a month, not a word in the press, is it because they would be the only genuine refugees to attempt to come here?
We have Tamils who when they get settled and organised will be trying to start another conflict in Srilanka, we have ******s who when they get organised will be wanting to form thier own State.
But as for Politicians who gave them the right to sell off the power stations that the ordinary Australian taxpayer payed for. a referendum? not on your nelly. They no longer serve the Australian people whether State or Federal. I dispair for my Granddaughter's future.
    Cheers Des
