Charlie you have the advantage of some great clubs RSL and such. Clubs over here much fewer and smaller. Probably due to the illegality of the pokies here. Cheers John Sabourn.

Rissole, Leagues and Bowling clubs are some of the cheapest and best places to eat and drink here in Oz. Good food at realistic prices, grog at prices we all can afford. Bottle of Chardonay cheaper by as much as $7 in the bottle shops. Still get a beer for $3 a pot.

got some pretty good wine here for $2.65 ,thats about 1/75 pounds . whats a gallon of petrol going for over there as its gettin pretty expensive here at $3.75.

Petrol around £1-40 a litre now Nev, So we are talking about £7 quid a gallon. Albi.

Hi Nev, Just back from six months in Southern California.
As you say. Good wine for $2 per bottle, and Budweiser beer 32 cans for $11 [on special] Cheaper than drinking bottled water, so I'm told!!
However gasoline was around $4 per gallon. U.S gallon slightly smaller than the imperial.

Yes John that's a fact but were i am there is just one club one pub and one tavern,and the club being closest to my place is were i use plus it as golf and other sports so its very handy,plus its cheaper to drink there.
