Britain's cheapest pint?
LINK: Britain's cheapest pint? | The Sun |News
A BOOZER has beaten the credit crunch by selling Britain’s cheapest pint – at 89p.
The Marksman was attracting only a few regulars but now has 500 punters a night.
Belal Hussain snapped up the flagging boozer in West Bromwich, West Mids, last month.
He gets barrels cheap by buying twice as many as his rivals.
Belal, 21, said: “I can’t fit any more beer in the cellar.
“We are happy making pennies rather than pounds.”

The Cheapest and Dearest Pint.
This may surprise Neville and a few other of you ex Pats if you have'nt been here for a few years.I went into the pub today ordered my usual a pint of Boddingtons being £1.85 I proffered a £2 coin and was asked for a further 5 pence. That is a 20p increase since I was in there 2 weeks ago.Now 20p is nothing to us living here but lets go back to the 50's and 60's when if the Chancellor put a penny on a pint there was an uproar. So if we have a rewind our 20p today is 4 Bob in old money can you imagine that 4 Bob increase on a pint in one go!!!

A Working mans right:
I was of the old school, a pint was a working mans right:
A pint and a pasty, not to much to ask for a labour force,
The pint is now taxed so much they now head for the pasty.

Just to deviate a little Kenny post before last mentions South Road (Waterloo) at the bottom of this road is where Captain Smith of the Titanic lived the house is still there and now we have coaches coming here with all the present interest in Titanic.

The owner of the the 'Titanic' lived over on the Wirral, The Ismay estate, which is situate at Thurstaston near a landmark pub called 'The Cottage Loaf'. Haven't a clue what you would pay for a pint in that place. I doubt if the landlords have increased there prices as they are probably unaware of the local history and oblivious to the house well hidden behind the trees opposite.
