Maybe the Film makers do not know which is Port or Starboard.
It was rather like the TV film on the Laconia. where the Third Mate has more gold braid than a Japanese Admiral and the Mate only had on stripe,
The film makers really should get a Good Seafaring man to advise them.

i may be wrong but i think Titanic was biggest loss of life in peacetime, ? the Lancastria and the German ship torpedoed in the Baltic in the last days of the war far greater losses, i dont think an accurate number is known. but over 6000 on each ship.
All this Titanic hype is just a money spinner for the producers. What about the poor souls who lost their lives in the first and second world wars. many were not even picked up by their ships, but left to drown. not forgetting those who were eaten by sharks in the pacific. An old friend of mine lost her husband in this manner. Yes Titanic was tragic but then there were also many, many others more tragic. LEST WE FORGET seems very apt,
The Titanic was advertised as unsinkable and on her maiden voyage , thats why she became such an icon, nothing much was heard of her until the wreck was found, then interest was re awakened, i dont agree with the selling of raised artifacts. better in museums. any loss at sea is a tragedy.:th_thth5952deef:
The Lancastria and Wilhelm Gustloft were much greatest disasters, but they were in wartime and didn't have wealthy people on them. Over 7000 died on the Wilhelm Gustloft and the tragedy is the subject of 'The Cruellest Night' by Dobson, Miller and Payne.Quote:

As is always the case with such stories, the new versions of Titanic are filled with flaws. But never let the truth get in the way of a good story or TV program!

More importantly Ted! How many ships are sailing the seas with a British Port on the Stern where the Owner, Master and Crew have never seen the skies over UK. But,.......carry a token BRITISH Cadet (for their sins).
