Bearing in mind that we have members on here who are in their late 80's and 90's, plus we have members from every differing path in the MN, not to mention the wives, girlfriends, sons, daughters, grandchildren and even great grandchildren I think it is unfair to make the assumption that everyone will automatically understand some of these initials. Therefore with the greatest of respect maybe we could all avoid using the abbreviations.(
sorry MN is Merchant Navy just in case) I know, personally speaking, I have read some posts of late and not knowing what the initials stood for just ignored it and moved on to the next one. The interesting thing is, other posts have included our general distaste for 'text speak' and yet some of us use it on here occasionally.

i have just read through this thread from the beginning and found it very interesting. a couple of things annoy me.
spelling. Is it too much trouble just to read through what you have written and correct mistakes, ie missed letters or letters out of place?. abbreviations. why not just write out the words?. or perhaps you are in a hurry to go somewhere now you are retired.

Loo
Is it a Bisexual one as recommended by the Brighton Council, soon to be eastablished all over Britain. Or do you just have an ordinary one. Wonder what would happen if, for those who have womens dressing rooms in their homes, told their wives under the equality regulations it was now dual functional. Cheers John Sabourn

There was a pub near teh commercial Docks in London alongside teh dock wall , I forget teh name , they were famed for drag acts , I felt very uncomfortable when a pretty girl walked in hoisted up her skirt , waved "Her " penis at teh urinal and urinated , I think my human rights were infringed , I had to have another drink to get over it
