Hi cappy Yes like many other commodities these days that is just one thing that is being exploited I feel! Like here in Aussie (suppose the same applies in many other Countries as well) the price of Petrol just fluctuates so much, with it going up and down just willy nilly. There has been so much talk of having a price level fixing but to no avail! All these Large Companies are just raking in the Dollars while us the Consumer just has to put up with all this! Crazy I call it and just plain greedy! If it wasn't for the People like us,where would these Giants be?? Cheers As I don't partake anymore I do feel however for those who still like their Sip! With Xmas approaching as you mention, there is sure to ne a price war on! Looks like here Aldi has some good offers going at this time, possibly over there too? http://www.aldiliquor.com.au/beer?gc...FYMopQodMjkAJQ http://www.bws.com.au/beerspecials.html

A gorilla walks into a pub, pulls up a stool, and orders beer.

The bartender gives him a mug and says, "that'll be five bucks."

As the gorilla reaches for his pocket, the bartender adds, "you know, we don't usually get many gorilla customers in here."

The gorilla shrugged and replies, "at five bucks a beer, it's no wonder . . ."

It's OK Cappy we get the same treatment here. I drink a berr called Ice, comes 30 cans to the pack, normal price $42 but on special two cases for $68 so buy up big three or four times ayear.
Vernon in answer to you question about petrol and as you say you no longer imbibe, in alcohol I hope and not petrol. My brother in law here worked for the taxation departmnent for years and told me the reason for the fluctuation in price. The petrol manufacturers 24/7 so at one point they end up with an over supply, that is when they begin to drop prices in order to encourage sales, then the cycle begins again.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    Cappy
Mexican beer. When I was working on the west coast of Mexico we used to buy Corona, Sol and Dos Equis (best one) for 5 cents a bottle. Initial purchase was higher but you brought the bottles then when you restocked you sent all the empties back and only paid for the beer. Spent a fabulous 12 months trotting up and down the west coast between Salina Cruz and as far up as the yankee border. Great runs ashore (even though it was a tanker) fantastic food (even brought through the local chandler) but best of all the beer. It was sombrero's at noon, ice cold Dos Equis on deck, then afternoon siesta.
The Mexican beer we get in the U.K. is all brewed in Europe and has a different taste to the genuine Mexican stuff plus it costs about 1000 times more than in Mexico.
