Welcome to the site Bill, if you post your details in the Crew List top right of this page and have a read through you may find others you know of. Lots of reminisces and information to be gleaned and enjoyed from different threads. Wee bit quiet this afternoon [rugby might have something to do with it]Marian

Bill as you will have noticed Gatx Oswego is not on the list of shipping companies on here,I just googled Gatx Oswego two sites to look at Ships Nostalgia and this site with some postings from a couple of years ago.You may recognise the posters.

Was it not one of the Gatx Oswego VLCC's that sailed from a major oil terminal in St. Croix? after discharging on its maiden voyage only to find that on commencing tank cleaning they had omitted to discharge one of its centre cargo tanks? I know it happened as I was on a product tanker loading at the terminal concerned and was told by the terminal manager as he had been racking his head trying to figure out how come he had a shortfall in the out turn figures from a VLCC of almost 30,000 tons.
