    Victoria:

I, back in 2017 popped into the local, Penarth Lifeboat Station shop and presented an RNLI flag for the use of the station.

This RNLI flag was probably a gift to my late father from Kinsale, Coutmacsherry (Southern Ireland) or Barry (Wales)

I had gifted as said earlier both a red and white ensign to a museum in Canada, a red ensign of the British Merchant Navy to the RBL Paris: that year the Red Duster took take part in the 11/11 Remembrance Service at Notre Dame for the first time and several old red dusters to a Barry Sea Scout group.

This day, was the about finding a good use / purpose to another item from my late fathers belongings.

I am certain he would have approved.

Careful mentioning the RNLI will set off a few on the site.
Your dad must've had a lot of MN articles....was he a collector of that sort of stuff? Good idea to repurpose so much as it would be a waste to just throw it away.
Was that your mum in the photo?

Not certain why anyone would be anti being saved by a RNLI crew.

No mum is not in the pic, I hold my life fairly private and do not broadcast all in public forums.

Apologies Keith just wondered who the lady was holding up the flag in your post.

Doc, lots of doctors in my family tree but I didn't become one.
I didn't get the right opportunity as my father felt "overeducating" females was a waste of time as they would just "get married" hence no university for me.
I broke that mould with a lot of resistance from him and others including the men in what was at that time a "male orientated" occupation. Had to "prove" myself more than the men did.
That's why I topped the state of NSW in my finals and won the sort after Kodak Prize.
Not many could say they were instrumental in saving people's lives or helping others through some tough periods in their lives.
The feed back I got was amazing from the patients and though it was at times tough, stressful work it made the effort worthwhile.

No worries, the lady in the pic was an RNLI volunteer, retired now.

Both my folks are passed now, had some quality time with them after so much time away.

    Keith.
