Models of 60's Merchant Ships.

My dad started building these as a hobby when he retired, I'm sure most of you will recognise them from your travels!

As he's not very computer savvy, he's asked me to show them on here.

If anyone is interested in buying a ship of your choosing and built to order, you can email me on
paragonal9@yahoo.co.uk and I will pass on your details.

They come on a hardwood plinth in a glass case (up to about 5 feet long).

Prices vary but are very reasonable.

More photo's are available if needed.

A very very fine interesting Hobby to persue and your Dad is doing a great Job with those Models !
Indeed a dab hand at Building these Ships!
I am sure that there will be some who may take up this fine offer.
The Pics you have supplied are really very good indeed!

As i suppose you are in the UK ? these Models would not be suitable to Ship overseas! And even if they were,it would mean taking a great risk of damage !
Not to mention the cost!

Anyway i hope that your Dad has a good respons to these Ships,as said they really do look GREAT!

My dad usually delivers the ships himself, but I don't know if that stretches to Australia!

hi paragon nine. the models look great but i think would be too large for most of us. we do not tend to live in mansions. i would think that an 18"to 2"6" would be more appropiate if they could be around that size and you quote a fair price you might get a lot of orders. cheers. alf

Thanks for your advice, he does build models in different sizes, but it seems that most people ask for large size models, i dont know why

thanks for that parogon 9 i live in a bungalow and my front room is only 10' by 12'. i have a 42" telivision. and a settee three bookcases an electrically operated chair and a coffee table could only put a model on the coffee table..so you see the problem. cheers. alf

absolutely beautiful museum quality models , incredible detail. I am a model maker myself but cant come close too them, your Dad could get a lot of $$$ for them , maybe at a maritime museum. all the best. Nev.

Hi Paragon.
Welcome to the site, and what a good way to join with those photos of your Dads models. I had to keep getting them up to admire.
It reminded me of an AB I sailed with who made a model of the British Guardian we were on, realy made a great job, then he and his cabin mate got drunk and floated it on the Suez canal, last we saw of it it was heading for the med ha ha.
