Insurance

The big problem is if you have an illness, like heart attack or a car accident, a fall and you get put into a hospital then you will have no cover. In the States it could cost you millions.
If you fail to disclose any problems then your insurance is void. even if it is not connected to the claim.
My insurance says if I am `suffering` from HIGH blood pressure then any ilness relating to High Blood pressure is not covered. so I am insured for a broken leg.
We have been all the way around the world every year since 1995 and never needed Insurance, but paid for it, except for last January where after a few whiskys on the Queen Mary in Long Beach I busted my knee and so had to be treated by the ships Doctor, When I joined the QE. so I got the pay for that. but I will have to see next week what they will assess.
You cannot trust any insurance company, they are in business to make money, not to take risks and pay out.
If you travel always take a Medical kit with you. I have one, it has everything in it. Paracetamol Pain Killers, Ibruofen. plasters, bandages, slings, elastic knee bandages , blood pressure tablets Insect bite spray, Ointments of all kinds and anticeptics, antibiotics, eye drops and a patch, and a fold up walking stick etc. Because if you claim they will find some way of getting it back.

You are correct Brian.
But one can't take a chance of going to the US without insurance.
I have heard horror stories of people who had to re mortgage their home after paying hospital bills.
Last year in California my wife had to go to emergency.
She was there for four hours.
Insurance paid $5,000.00 to the hospital.
Last week [13 months later] I receive a bill from the US hospital for $550.00.
Will now be a big hassle getting the insurance to pay for it.
The agent who dealt with our plan is no longer with them.
Think they screw you around until you pay for it.
They are going to wait a long time for that to happen!

After reading some of these posts i will have to watch what i am doing hate to fall over coming out of the boozer or getting mixed up with fast women and being rolled .It will not be like the old days when i was at sea
