A little Yorky make very good pets. Anne had one for 12 years before it died of a heart problem.
I never ever got on with dogs, but she taught me a lot. I learned her language, every squeek , grunt or bark had a meaning , when I learned this it was great, I was like Doctor Doolittle talking to the animals, She could also learn English words and even when I spelt them she understood.
Very upset to loose a good mate.

I know how you are feeling mate.
We had to put our last one down because of Cancer in three places.
Only a pet lover knows the pain.
The dog was the most un- bonnie dog you ever did see.
Just like Green Grass's dog in heartbeat.
But she was a real pal to me .
I lasted about 5 months saying I never going to have any more dogs.
Then my you lasss brought this 10 week old choculate lab The bottom jaw is shorter than the top so nobody wanted him.
Just leave the dog here Tracy. I'll look after him
I now still think of the other when looking at pictures , but she was from the dog pound and she had 14 years with us . 14 years more than she would have had in the dog pound. All the street kids loved her.
But now we take Harris out walks and agin we are happy people.
So get in there mate as we all like the love they bring.
Good luck on your search.

if you go to any dogs trust they always need dog walkers and you can have a stroll with any of the dogs any afternoon a lot of elderly people that with their age do not want to home a new dog a least can spend time with one you can walk mine anytime all 8st of him his is a rescue dog he was badly overfed 12st could hardly walk its took me 4 years to get 4st of him he is like a polar bear he is part dog part mattress but i would not be without him and when he passes i will get another rescue dog the last act of kindness you can give your best mate is to have him put to sleep.jp

Well it looks like we've just adopted a 2 year old Jack Russell x Pug. My wife fell in love with him instantly. Not sure the cats will feel the same. The owner is emigrating to Turkey so we got him Free to a good home. Time will tell:confused:

Hoorah!
Congrats, Tony. That's wonderful. Sadly, so many pets need good homes. If I didn't have allergies, I'd have a houseful!
Cheers!
Jacyn
P.S. My sympathies to the cats... ha ha!

At the moment the dog is winning hands down but a couple of new gates fitted this morning should ease the situation hopefully. If the cats stood their ground there wouldn't be a problem. They have only ever known one elderly dog who loved them all to bits. This is a new experience for both them and the dog. Other than that he is perfectly behaved and only had one little accident. Doesn't even seem to miss his previous owners too much:)
