John, A male cousin got my dad's Army coat, kit bag etc as he collected such things.
Feather duvets are widely available throughout the UK, eiderdowns are also making a comeback but way more expensive per sq metre and would have to be dry cleaned [as far as I know] an added expence to boot. PM me with an area you shop in and I'll supply you with retailers/stockists there if you wish.:)

#46. When I sailed with Cunard, after discharging passengers at the Liverpool Landing Stage, we’d move to the Huskisson to unload cargo. One of the dockers working the ship wore a very old army greatcoat which had seen better days and had tears on the back resembling bullet holes. He was referred to as The Coward.
I often wonder what happened to all those what must have been millions of Blue bunk covers with the anchors on them, every ship I was on had them on the bunks, wish now that I had nicked one, as a souvenir

Wedding present of a fan heater!!! what ever happened to passion, surely that would make any blushing bride red hot?
#48, Did try Des , numerous sites with endless pages! Below is Google's response
''Couldn’t find any specific information on where to purchase a 1950’s Merchant Navy crew blue bunk cover with anchor. However, you can try contacting The National Archives12 or Crew List Index Project3 to see if they have any information on where to purchase one. You can also try searching on online marketplaces like eBay, Etsy, or Amazon. If you have any more specific information on the bunk cover, such as the ship name or number, it may help narrow down your search.''
