I was on Grecian 64 as Jos round med ,Cyprus ,Israel , Italy , though can't remember ports in Italy .
As a young lad 17_18 every time I saw an R N ship I would climb the vertical ladder to the boat deck and dip the ensign as it passed ,loved to see the white ensign dip in return .
My favorite run the med ,such a long time ago , did it really happen ??? Joe.

Joe some of us on here are on Grecian 2000 now trying to pretend those days were just last week. Grecian 64 was a long time ago now, the world has changed not for the better for most of us, we are still re-living our old life styles. Today things are not what they used to be, but today as far as we are concerned remain unchanged. Cheers JWS

    Hi Joe.
I was on a tanker in the 50s when a RN destroyer came rushing past, the mate sent me down aft with the Red Ensign to dip it, I started to dip it slowly; the RN ship following then I stopped but he continued so I dipped after him just to show which was the most important flag.
    Cheers Des
