    Default City of Calcutta

In 1960 at Tilbury we came alongside near to City of Calcutta. Would she be the vessel built in 1940, or a newer ship of the same name? I cannot find details of what happened to the 1940 version, except that she survived the war. I'd appreciate more clarity here. This is for research into a seafaring memoir I'm working on.
    Thanks, chaps.

Indeed she would be that same ship Harry. In 1961 sold to Grosvenor Shipping Co, Hong Kong renamed GROSVENOR PILOT.

Thanks, Hugh. Good of you to look it up - I had drawn a blank. I've a list of ships in Tilbury on the day my Liberty (ss Malabar) went in on 18 March 1960. Adding details of them to the memoir I'm on with will add some body and colour to faded memory. So, well done for the info.
