Hi,

I represent an individual who is suffering from an asbestos related disease, potentially as a result of his time serving as an engineer with Ellerman. He sailed on the City of Manchester, commencing at Hull on 16 April 1962 and proceeding to Middlesborough, Antwerp, Hamburg, Rotterdam and finishing in London.

during this time he was serving as an apprentice for Ellerman and was 16 years of age. During his training he spent a lot of time in college. part of the apprenticeship involved going to the City of Winchester that was docked in Smiths Docks in North Shields. They were tasked with repairing the ship after it had run aground off the coast of Canada and was in a terrible state.

If anyone has any details or remembers these ships then I would very much appreciate if you would get in touch. Any information that you may have, however small you might think it is, could prove useful in the case.

Many thanks,

Oz
