John, I am sure UCL must have breathed a sigh of relief when you signed off. They must have saved a few quid when you went on leave. Plates, cups & saucers cutlery and silver service items. Everything would appear to have gone over the side or ashore in Las Palmas for ciggies
Think if the Bosun spotted a paint brush going over the wall ,the offender would have followed it to retrieve it.

There was a UCL head office guy who went to Las Palmas for a holiday.
On return he asked if the company sold old silver and china to the local hotels there as he saw so much of it.
Obviously not a smoker.
