    Default Angola during Civil War

    Hi,
Was anyone in here trapped in Angola during their civil war ?. I was on MV Eboe for 10 months in Lobito, very strange voyage indeed, but would not have missed it for anything. Grand merories.

Was in Lobitos once but no civil war. Seemed a strange place for West Africa, the Portuguese put their own stamp of civilization on it. Cheers JS

    Hi Bill,
I think you still owe me 10 Escudos from our time in Angola.

I apologise in advance if I've posted this in the wrong thread. I'm looking for any information, pictures or anybody who knew my grandad. I believe he served in the Merchant Navy for Elder Dempster as a stoker. He lived in Liverpool and his name is Henry (Harry) Joseph Thompson, his date of birth is 6th September 1912. I believe he also participated in boxing when he served. Thanks and would appreciate any help. Emma.
