12th April 1966 SS Chuscal
Hi Michael
I have just come aboard your fine site and I am so pleased to of read your post.
My name is Kevin Smith and my Dad was Michael Sydney Smith. I was four when I lost him and I lost my Mum at an early age as well.
I have never been able to get any information about my Dad, his ship (Chuscal) or that day.
I know that there is a memorial plaque and I have seen a photo of the plaque but I do not know where it is now?
Do you have any photos of my Dad or your Ship anything at all really?
I was a Sea Cadet and bound to follow my Fathers footsteps and join the Royal Navy back in 1981. I ended up joining the Army Royal Engineers and served for just over ten years.
My children are now starting to ask questions about their Grandad so it would be nice to have something to tell them. I do hope you can help.
Regards
Kevin
