S.S.Ronde
Flew out to S.S.Ronde on 18/09/1972 joined her in Baltimore,Paid off Porto Cortes Sick !!! on 07/11/02.
Never been on a ship with so many seamen paying off sick!,but the run was good.
Has anyone got a photograph of her ?.

Hi Peter.
Welcome to the site, one of the best on the net for old salts. I had to look twice at your dates on the SS Ronde, 30 years on the one ship, might be some sort of a record on this site anyway.

The Ronde
I was on the Ronde around that time. We joined her in NY and ran aground in Tela. Really felt sorry for the Old Man (Capt. Denman) he was a gentleman. They flew us home and towed her to Galveston for a refit. Amazing trip it was, great bunch of lads on her, I think I still remember them all.

I joined in galveston after that refit. My mate was on when they ran aground in tela. He was a steward Brian Digweed.
