How many war ships
So the USA & UK have decided to police the Red sea and bomb the Houties in Yemen.
Well we RAF fly for 7 hours and refuel twice to do our so called bit. Were are the 7£ billion Aircraft carriers when they are needed?
As HMS Queen Elizabeth showcases military might and NATO unity in the North Seas, HMS Prince of Wales ventures into technological frontiers off the USA’s Eastern Seaboard. Well that is what they were up to in September 2023.
Question is how many warships has Denmark, France, Italy/Switzerland, Germany,Japan,Korea, Taiwan and even Israel.
These nations have fleets that are in the top 10 in the world.
Maersk, CGM, MSC,Hapag Lloyd, various Japanese, Korean and Taiwan companies, even ZIM Line they own 80 ships as of 2020.
Really is time others started pulling their weight.
Iran , the Russians and the Chinese must be pissing themselves laughing at the febble attempts of the so called western super powers.
Not saying we should not be doing our bit but perhaps those shipping companies could help foot the bill for the support they will benefit from.

Perhaps they can't get any ammo from the US or Britain, they have used it all up in the Ukraine.

BRUSSELS/PARIS (Reuters) - European Union member states have given initial backing to a naval mission to protect ships from attacks by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi movement in the Red Sea, European diplomats said on Tuesday.

I’m sure we all feel safer in our beds now ,that a bunch of lounge lizards have deigned to make an utterance. The Houtis must be quaking in their shoes . JS

#5 like many others probably on this site as well, keep on getting letters at one time to see if I was still in the land of the living , probably so could suspend and cancel the very small pension which I and the shipowner paid for in the first place. However all these high ranking officers being government subsidised pensions who worries ? JS

Re: How many war ships
So much gold braid, who makes it all?
But there are offices in London belonging to the Admiralty and they must be manned or some one else will take them over.
That would no doubt bring about a national crisis, the Gin distilleries would go broke as would the manufacturers of braid.
Happy daze John in Oz.
