Not all French did Keith. Let's face it the French and English are as good as cousins they frequently kiss and make up and will do again. Europe needs the UK on side and the UK needs Europe onside like it or not.

I don't think we will ever get on myself, history shows it as well. My father was involved against the Vichy french, and he had no time for them. you say not all of them, and of course many of them were very brave, but the Vichy part can never be buried.But we will see where this latest part goes, if Sunak pulls it off , it could save him. Of course Europe has its own problems in the Med to keep them out, but i am convinced that letting them roam anywhere once they are in Europe is a big mistake.

Agree Keith , this open borders was only ever for business and once they are in Europe they head North basically unopposed.
Vichy France sent thousands to the death camps and they always denied doing so. They only ended up admitting they had during the Chriac era , just checked it was 1995.
