Re: Chinese weather ballon????
Would somebody on this site tell me who had been an admirable leader of Australia, UK, and the USA. *Not in history but in your lifetime since your age of 21 and have the vote. If no one previously elected, give me the name of someone who should have been elected.
*
I get my opinion of the UK, Australian and Canadian prime ministers from my only sources, newspapers, T.V., radio, weekly magazines, all these are slanted by either an organization or an individual powerful owner's point of view. I am not a socialist, therefore. I do not read socialist news, so my view I admit is slanted.
Though a card-carrying capitalist, (Visa card with a line of credit I don't need, and a zero-balance owed) and having lived in Australia and Canada and born in the UK and visited each country many times, I do not comment on their politics, because I know my news source is slanted by the opinion of my news sources.*
Because as an American capitalist, though I voted for Biden, and to use an American expression, I wouldn't vote for "Trump to be Dog Catcher."
I happen to think Biden is doing a pretty good job with what he has to work with, a slim majority in Congress. *I do think he is too old to run again, he would be 86 by the end of his next term, the same age as I am now. *I walk 2 miles every day up and down hills and do exercises amongst which are three sets of 35 pushups accompanying nine other exercises. I am physically fit and mentally alert and have to do.my own cooking, housework, laundry and shopping, and I'm bloody pooped at the end of the day. Eighties*are too old to work such*a powerful and demanding job as President or Prime Minister or a widower for that matter.* I give him this run, but commencing next year, he's got political troubles. * The democrats in all probability will lose control of the senate and congress and he will be unable to get anything done. It's a struggle now with*the barest of majorities.
In my view the maximum age for a world leader is seventy, and annual physical and mental testing after sixty-five and subject to public scrutiny.
One of the greatest orators was Winston Churchill, he had a speech impediment, a lisp.* Biden suffered from*stuttering as a child and through therapy*was able to eventually control it.* Biden suffered*and still to slight degree suffers with a stutter.* In spite of this public speaking handicap, he won six terms as a United States Senator, Vice-president to President Obama and elected President.* He has passed legislation*as President despite having a one vote majority with one democratic*senator who refused to vote on any social issue proposed.
Fortunately, in the Senate, the vice-president is the presiding*officer and in case of a tie she has a vote, and most of Biden's bills have been able to be enacted.* This will end in January as he will lose*his majority and govern as a minority president.*
If your claim to fame for a successful politician*is oratory skills, most of you would have fallen in love with Hitler had you been born earlier in Germany.
What you do not obviously understand about U.S.A. politics is "The President proposes, the Congress disposes." That is the simplest explanation of how our system works. If Congress, either or both of the houses, Senate and Congress vote down a proposed law by the president, the president's proposed law is dead. This is in our constitution to protect against Kings and dictators.
Cheers, Rodney*
