Why do you assume I find this offensive?
Perhaps in the extreme hot weather conditions he found it kept his legs cool by wearing a mini skirt.
Luckily he was not giving Pincher- Groper a lift at the time.

Wearing High heels while driving a car? While not illegal to do so are they really suitable driving footwear.

First let me say you are sometimes forgetting that you are on a MN site. The majority of seaman here will be well used to gay men dressing in women's clothing, it was not unusual or offensive. Gay men came to sea to be themselves, not to have to pretend and hide away. They were fully accepted by all the crew and their sense of humour often kept us going when life became tough.

Now for the political bit. Yes I am left wing and do not apologise for this. I want to live in a fairer society where the wealth of the country is distributed evenly not held by 10% of the population. Where a child can receive the same education as in fee paying schools. I want to see an end to slum landlords who exploit the weakest in society and an end of the need of foodbanks where people cannot afford the very basics of life.

I used to enjoy watching Wolfie Smith. Power to the people.

I am expecting an avalanche of typical Tory rants, the majority of which will be the usual childish nonsense.

Frankly my dear I do not give a damn.

One more thought, the MP was charged with fleeing the scene of an accident. The photos of him arriving at Court show a large man, some may say a fat lad. It cannot have been easy for him to flee very fast while wearing high heels.

Well, if he stands for PM,and got the job, that would make really entertaining parliament, he could wear his mini skirt and give Angela Raynor something to goggle at, lol

Thumbs up Re: The Bid for Leadership Race....

Marian.Yr.# 52 clap hands.gif Bravo! Thank You-a very well thought out and descriptive post-you mirror my sensible,educated,decent,right-thinking (in the 'decent' sense) sentiments exactly.

I ,like my working class father and grandfather before me have never understood what makes mainly youngish ,apparently quite well educated people-and there are more women than men it has to be said-become Labour party supporters,MP's,journalists or activists, and then espouse what can only be called a 'champagne socialist' fiercely hostile attitude to right wing supporters, who these days are in any case mainly as working class as themselves, just look at the Red Wall. The days of perceived Tory elitism and privelege is no longer a hallmark of the Tories, whilst many Left wing supporters pay lip-service to their champagne-lifestyle leaders... I think,if it wasn't for the support of the trade unions and the red-top scandal-mongering ,communist inspired rag sheets ,the British Labour Party would be as dead as a Dodo....

I do not participate or comment on the political questions raised on*this site.*I cannot follow them, as slurs or nicknames introduce the characters, and are well known to y'all but impossible to connect by an outsider to your politics*like me.

I was always taught that "Sarcasm*was the wit of fools". I also think it is the argument of a bully.

I was an emigrant to the USA, I became a naturalized citizen on May 1st, 1970, this allowed me to participate in local, state, and federal elections including the senate and congress and to participate and run for office in government. There is only one position I cannot hold and that is President. The presidency is reserved for native born Americans.

In my 60 years of living in this country and 52 years as an American, I have never been made anything other than welcome. An example: * This a.m. I went for my usual morning walk; about three days of the week, I pass two really eye-catching young ladies in their mid-twenties, and we exchange good mornings. This a.m. there were three "eye-catchers. *As we approached, *I said, "Good morning,"*They stopped and one of them asked me where I was from. I usually say "South Carolina". But I told them "Originally England, but I would guess I've been an American longer than your grandfathers."* They laughed and added that they asked, because they just "Love your accent." They asked me my name, I told them Rodney, but I wouldn't ask them theirs as I would forget it five minutes later, I would just call them "lovely ladies".* They laughed, and we went on our way.* So tomorrow we will be on a first name basis, This is typical in the states, at least 3 times a week, a shop clerk, bank*teller, or someone I have asked for directions etc. will say the same thing, and it has happened in every state I have lived or visited.

I was able to rise from a daily paid cook to the president and CEO of a multinational*industrial catering company and to retire in my mid-forties. To sit in my office and at times look out of my window up Madison*Avenue, Manhattan, NYC., To see the Empire*State*building, shades of King Kong, and across, on the next corner to St. Patrick's Cathedral where in a film Bing Crosby died. I saw these movies as a kid in England. * I would*pinch myself, to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

Now these emigrants, who came to YOUR country, came with great expectations too, of a better life than they had had in the country they left. Your government granted them permission to legally enter, stay, and obtain citizenship, and they worked hard, and they achieved success. * As long as they put YOUR country first, and become British in their actions, good luck to*them. It happened to me.
    *
It wouldn't surprise me if they sat in Parliament*and gave themselves a little pinch to make sure they too were not dreaming.

You that are disgruntled, and what is shocking some were immigrants too from England, had more of a chance than they did, by your words, "color of their skin," I assume that you, the*disgruntled, are white.

I make it a practice, and I taught my three sons, to judge people by their words AND their actions, and to walk away from losers, black, white or green (with envy).

    Rodney Mills, an immigrant*too
