    Post Re: Weather

'Beer Korma 'has spent almost his entire tenure as Opposition Leader berating Boris Johnson and this government, without setting out the Labour Party's manifesto should they ever become re-elected,which at the moment, despite having won a largely meaningless bye-election in Wakefield seems unlikely. Yes,the Beergate lawyer is just a figurehead,a puppet of those in the inner sanctum of the Kremlin HQ at 105 Victoria Street ,which of course includes TUC leaders and TU leaders. I noticed on the TV Question Time programme there didn't seem to be that many left wing rent-a-rabble hecklers in the audience as usual. How ironic is that ,perhaps, they couldn't make it because of the rail strikes......

And by the bye,pun intended, bye-election success has rarely,if ever translated into a general election victory.
What might, just might worry the Tories is if,as has currently been mooted, regarding these two bye-elections that the Labour Party and Lib Dems forge a pact to unite in bringing down the Conservative majority, and no doubt bolstered by that pesky Wee Burney SNP woman ,Nichola Sturgeon who won't take 'No '!for an answer.
Yes,tactical voting must have happened at Tiverton and Honiton-just look at the election result figures.Without going into the numbers you can see how few votes there were for Labour compared with many thousands more in 2019. Those Labour voters have gone tactically to bolster the Lib Dems and prevent a Tory majority.

One of my acquaintances is a Lib Dem councillor and he was rather upset once when I referred to his party as the Jehovah's Witnesses of the political world-I mean they are just there, rather irritating, believing in their own aims, doorstep canvassing and trying to convert people,-and being rather forgotten about at General Election time, settling for crumbs off the table at bye-elections instead and dreaming they really could win a next General Election...
He was even more upset when someone else referred to the Lib Dems as the Chameleon Party--they change colour according to which party in a coalition could give them the greater chance of getting into power !-they did it with the Tories in 2010,and before that ,wasn't it in 1997 with Tony Blair?
It all fails and dooms the Lib Dems to another generation in the political background. Poor things.

Getting back to the Tories and the Leadership Question ,I am disgusted that certain of the Cabinet and many other MP's are so full of blind hatred for Boris Johnson and their intent to oust him that they have conveniently forgotten that if BoJo hadn't won the greatest general election majority since Margaret Thatcher, then they wouldn't have jobs !
A lot of this blind hatred of Boris ,with regards to the general electorate has been whipped up by the news media .Fortunately many of us read or watch and are able to make an informed decision about political events.....unfortunately,many thousands or more cannot.

Love the Tories or not,a change of leadership at this point in time is not a good idea.Coffee & News.gif Reader.gif

Graham I am not in anyway whatsoever a committed party follower , and the only thing I would thank Boris for, would be coming out of Europe. Otherwise I would consider him a long haired buffoon who revelled in the fact of being different , and by thus doing so, showing his contempt for the general public who put him there. I would have voted for him knowing he was coming out of Europe only. However saying that I do notice he has had his hair cut at least , he would maybe now just get into the orals room for Masters and Mates. However a man with his supposedly expensive education was letting himself and his likes down by his bad exhibitionism of himself, I often wonder how often he changes his underpants and socks. Still not for me to wonder why. just as long as he keeps the UK afloat. Cheers JS

John i am also a noncommited voter .....i only see what we all see relevent to ourselves ...but the conservatives seem to suit my thinking more than any other party ....i have prospered with effort and not been tied to any unions of which i have made abundantly clear on this site .....i feel i am a free spirit and owe no man ......i watch the politics closely and punch and judy seems to be the name of the game ....in all honesty it will not make an iota of diference to me who wins the next election.....but i see no policies from starmer and co whatsoever.....only a constant attack on the PM who only recently won a massive general election .....i see folk constantly saying on tele they cannot afford to eat ....well they sure as hell wont sitting on there asses.....they talk of poverty .....what a generation we appear to have bred......no doubt our labour supporters on site will disagree with my view.....but when an ex prime minister of the labour party gets a bloody knighthood for his services ....but needs a bodygaurd to march with him in a crowd of free men ......surely something is sadly wrong ......and the last labour PM who sold the countries gold to keep himself in power .....and left a message ......THERE IS NO MONEY LEFT IN THE TREASURY still thinks anyone wants to listen to his dribble ...then i fear we are almost lost.....if i was a labour supporter which i was in my youth ...i would beg the labour party to dump starmer who shows as much go as a windmill in the doldrums and give the people some policies ......i have like many on this site have seen hard times ...and we didnt have the pleasure of food banks ......central heating....or government handouts ....we got up went out and found work.....and of course there has never been so many in work.... or so many job vacancies ..to me the government is doing fine ....its the people who want to wake up.......cappy R683532

We have just had a change of government here, during which all sorts of rash promises were made by individual parties , all those promises are going to cost a lot of money . Now the excuses will start when necessary . If those promises are kept , why weren’t they have done years ago so that the general public could have received so much a relief in their lifestyle. To me all politics is a joke in itself , as you say it doesn’t matter what party is in , they are a bunch of social climbers , as for T.B. Receiving the Garter that to me was the final straw , I wouldn’t of given him one of the wife’s old suspenders. Reminds me of one of the old times spivs during the war selling goods that fell off the back of a lorry. The best description without being too insulting of a politician was one given to me when I worked with the MOD and asked him this matelot about the Naval attaches who were stationed at foreign embassies, his reply was they were the officers who were no good for anything else certainly not on ships. They must be the closest thing to a Naval politician . JS
Apart of course from our own sea lawyers. JS.

As said in previous posts, efforts are underway to remove Boris, i am unclear (not unusual) as to what procedure they can use, they are trying to change the rules so he can be challenged again before the year is up, remembering when Maggie Thatchers leadership was challenged by Tarzan, can another candidate challenge Boris for leadership, or have the rules change ?, don't know how it all works, far too shifty this political life for me.

Mr Parish - who resigned after watching pornography in parliament. I wonder if he was actually taking video of the girl on the opposition bench giving Boris an eye full? He says people in Tiverton and Honiton had voted against a "very unpopular prime minister" after the Liberal Democrats overturned a 24,000 Tory majority to win his former seat.
The former Tory MP for Wakefield Imran Ahmad Khan(citizen Khan) was Jailed for sexually abusing a 15 year old boy Um!!!
I wonder was it a bit tit for tat because Azeem Rafiq complained about racism at Yorkshire Cricket club?? Rafiq reveals details of the racism he faced at Yorkshire, saying non-white players were called “P***s” and “elephant washers”. He also highlights a drinking culture at the club that is insensitive to ****** attitudes to alcohol.Surely watching Cricket would drive you to drink. Like hello what else is there to do when it pours down with rain most of the summer. So back on the Weather topic there at the end.

Watched Andrew Neil show last night, and Damian Green, deputy under Teressa May explained that BOJO is safe, the only way he can bee removed now is if the cabinet members turn against him, so thats my query on the procedure for removal answered.
