'Beer Korma 'has spent almost his entire tenure as Opposition Leader berating Boris Johnson and this government, without setting out the Labour Party's manifesto should they ever become re-elected,which at the moment, despite having won a largely meaningless bye-election in Wakefield seems unlikely. Yes,the Beergate lawyer is just a figurehead,a puppet of those in the inner sanctum of the Kremlin HQ at 105 Victoria Street ,which of course includes TUC leaders and TU leaders. I noticed on the TV Question Time programme there didn't seem to be that many left wing rent-a-rabble hecklers in the audience as usual. How ironic is that ,perhaps, they couldn't make it because of the rail strikes......
And by the bye,pun intended, bye-election success has rarely,if ever translated into a general election victory.
What might, just might worry the Tories is if,as has currently been mooted, regarding these two bye-elections that the Labour Party and Lib Dems forge a pact to unite in bringing down the Conservative majority, and no doubt bolstered by that pesky Wee Burney SNP woman ,Nichola Sturgeon who won't take 'No '!for an answer.
Yes,tactical voting must have happened at Tiverton and Honiton-just look at the election result figures.Without going into the numbers you can see how few votes there were for Labour compared with many thousands more in 2019. Those Labour voters have gone tactically to bolster the Lib Dems and prevent a Tory majority.
One of my acquaintances is a Lib Dem councillor and he was rather upset once when I referred to his party as the Jehovah's Witnesses of the political world-I mean they are just there, rather irritating, believing in their own aims, doorstep canvassing and trying to convert people,-and being rather forgotten about at General Election time, settling for crumbs off the table at bye-elections instead and dreaming they really could win a next General Election...
He was even more upset when someone else referred to the Lib Dems as the Chameleon Party--they change colour according to which party in a coalition could give them the greater chance of getting into power !-they did it with the Tories in 2010,and before that ,wasn't it in 1997 with Tony Blair?
It all fails and dooms the Lib Dems to another generation in the political background. Poor things.
Getting back to the Tories and the Leadership Question ,I am disgusted that certain of the Cabinet and many other MP's are so full of blind hatred for Boris Johnson and their intent to oust him that they have conveniently forgotten that if BoJo hadn't won the greatest general election majority since Margaret Thatcher, then they wouldn't have jobs !
A lot of this blind hatred of Boris ,with regards to the general electorate has been whipped up by the news media .Fortunately many of us read or watch and are able to make an informed decision about political events.....unfortunately,many thousands or more cannot.
Love the Tories or not,a change of leadership at this point in time is not a good idea.Attachment 34835 Attachment 34836
