Re: Life in the sunshine
Louis, while I do not agree with your comments I will defend your righty to speak your mind, it is free speech is a corner stone of any democracy.
Something the people of China and Russia do not have.
Politicians all go into parliament with good intent, but then when in they undergo a treatment that turns them into something else.
Not sure now about UK, but here in Oz those of the Liberal/National coalition are free to speak and at times go against the party line.
With Labor no such thing, they must at all times toe the party line on all subjects, good or bad.
That does not make them bad people, just people who think there is only their way to do any thing.
Hold your belief mate even if ridiculed for it, believing strongly in some thing is your right.
Happy daze John in Oz.

#34 I hope not Des my wife gets about 11 pounds a week and I rely on that to maintain by standard of living ? JS
Nearly got palpitations there. Cappy , after paying her father 3 cows for her 61 years ago only to find her penniless today , don’t know what I would have done. Your 3/9d would have been the last straw. Cheers JS

Re: Life in the sunshine
#37 I’ve got two dislikes about Boris Marian , the first is I wish he would get a proper hair cut and not try to emulate Cappys tart out of Betty’s bar. And the second one is I don’t like his posture of stooped shoulders as looking at something else , always reminds be of a seaman before he demands to see a doctor and I check him out beforehand. There are a lot of other minor issues also but not worth mentioning. Cheers JS
#38 Too dangerous Cappy too much mad cow disease around then. Did you know although they are short of blood in the hospitals here, they will not take any off those who lived in the Uk between certain dates and even refused mine years ago. And yet nothing was said about you and Emu . Now that is real prejudice , am thinking of bringing this up in Parliament If I am elected for Clive Palmers Party . Will just mention you as Mr X to save you any embarrassment . Cheers JS

Re: Life in the sunshine
Whilst I have no brook with falsies or to put it correctly false news, I did read that the British Govt had stopped the pension for married women, I shall no longer read my news , on account it nearly gave John S a heart attack at the thought of his wife not being able to buy him a beer at the Bingo

Re: Life in the sunshine
Des, it could be worse.
In Queensland one Labor MP has suggested the card used by Aborigines to pay for food and essential services only should apply to all on and form of benifits.
The PM, your non mate, said what a load of hogwash.
But there it is mate, in an election all manner of Phurphys will emerge

Marion I am not offended by your comment.
Just wanted to say to Louis that even if he is all stuffed up about it he still has the right to be so.
And I do enjoy your Scottish language.

Re: Life in the sunshine
Thanks John I didn't know I was all stuffed up but there you go.
As to Marian's question as to who could do better than the resident Clown there is an obvious candidate , the MP with the bright yellow mop on his head.
In a recent poll conducted in British West Hartlepool 79% of the population said the Clown was a liar and they were going to buy yellow mops.
