Watching the news yesterday morning with reference to the start of a new school year, a 17 year old lad (bigger than most adults!) said he would be glad when the pandemic was over as it was quite traumatic having to wear a mask all day at school. Guess you could have had some fun with him at Vindi....snowflakes doesn't come into it

Ivan, maybe he should be sent up to see Red Lead Ted, I heard yesterday he has Covid. I believe in free speech and freedom thought, but I think it is a sign of the times when some appear to overthink some issues and appear to believe what they see on the various social media fake news messages.

A 17 year old complaining about wearing a mask.

Well he should consider him self lucky to be able to do so.
He should go to any hospital and ask how many have passed with the Virus.
    Might just wake him up.

Pity there is no Vindi or similar today, that would fix him for sure.

As post #1 has my name on it, so presumably I am the surrogate starter of this thread by transfer. Please be assured I will not be upset or offended if any of you wander away from the theme of 'masks' which in itself has a limited circumstance of exploration. Interesting, informative and even educational aspects can be learned from deviating from a set course; this deviation intended or otherwise can be sparked by a single word which lights a memory long forgotten which we may or may not benefit from and we feel a need to relay. Our memories are precious, let us preserve them anyway we can for our own sake and for the enjoyment (or otherwise) of those who may follow our journey when we have finally sailed off the edge of the world into an unknown voyage when we involuntary have the last pier-head jump.

Speaking o a woman yesterday who said she has looked everywhere but can not find any masks to buy, it must be this Omicron, yesterday
in NSW 42 thousand, in Victoria 54 thousand, yet we got through the stronger Delta with less cases, hopefully this one is more like the flue.
I wish Red Lead all the best, may he and his family get well soon.

Latest News on this Omicron is that they reckon it will Peak late in January here in NSW then start to flatten out!
I see also in the news that the Stage 4 in South Africa is on the decline, so sounds fesible !
    Lets all hope so!

My brother phoned yesterday, sounded like death warmed over, went for a test says it will take 72 hours for a result.
He only lives the other side of the main drag from me.

But on our Christmas travels along the Murray we found all manner of different rules regarding the virus.
First motel in Moama, no worries about the certificate mate and no need for masks, just need your credit card to book in.

Club Christmas day lunch, show certificate on phone, no worries mate take your mask off.

Boxing day in RSL club, they wanted to know who my GGM was and other such crap, not going there again.

Mildura, Wentworth, Swan Hill in motels no certificate required, no masks in bars or dinning rooms, just as well as eating and drinking with one on is a problem,
then back home in Victoria, why no mask mate??

I was asked where we went for the holiday, I told them , 'Makonmaskoff"
