hi bill, I was on the carmania sept 1964 in the enginin room for two trips. I got out and went into catering.
I got a job on Pendennis casle as a kitchen porterfor one trip then left and went onto the Oriana as a kitchen porter and then into tourist waiter and then after a few trips ended up as a wine waiter.
I left the sea at the end of 1967 and went back to my trade as a hot water fitter.
Times have changed and we are now called heating engineers, Gorgi, Gas safe.
I am now 66 and still working part time,
