Hi Mike,
Just replied to your Elder Fyfe entry and found this one so hello again. This ship I heard of. See I sailed on Cunards "LYCIA" Aug to Nov 1964 as Purser/CS .I was with Cunard about fifteen years.

Hi again Stuart, we seem to have been almost shipmates quite often, and of course you having know quite well my cousin Frank Cannon. Seem to recall the Lycia was an out of date Liberty ship. Do you remember the bosun Austin Duffy, I even went to school with him, think he is still around Crosby. Will now check on the banana boats see what else we share a history of.

Hi , my name is Colin Shone and I sailed with Frank Cannon in the 1960s, as you are his cousin I wonder if you could pass some photos I have of him to his daughter?
We sailed on the SS Andania and as I came from Birkenhead and he from Liverpool we formed a bond, do hope that you can help.

Re: Stuart Henderson
Worked by the Alaunia in Liverpool for a week as well as the Carinthia and Sylvania whilst on Cunards shore gang before literally throwing myself at the feet of Bert Forest, Cunards Catering Super in Liverpool and begging for a transfer to Southampton. It worked as the next day I was on the train from Lime Street to Southampton via Waterloo to join the Mauretania as a Roast Cook. Happy days were back on the menu so to speak.
No pun intended by the way.
