Hi John, I did a trip on the El Lobo in September 1964 to Venazuela and Equador as steward. I also sailed on the Gonzalo (ex regent caribou) in May 1967 just as the last seamans strke was starting. I joined her in cammel lairds dry dock and because they were rushing to sail before the strike started she broke down nearly every day for two weeks. Tramped between the States and South America for ten months.

William. I was in convoy ON153 with Regent Lion when she was damaged by torpedo in December 1942.

Hi guys-for those of us interested in this I attach the following link from Convoy Web HERE. I see after the 1942 attack and repair (at Falmouth?) she returned to service and was torpedoed again(fatally) in 1945.

    Fate:

submarine torpedoed 35.56N/5.45W on 17.2.45 (7 lost) & wrecked in tow La Perla Rocks .
Should not be confused with a second Regent Lion which entered service in 1946(was built as Empire Trinidad in 45 ) and continued in service to 1960.
