Yes you are right Jim, every six weeks. As tankers go she wasn't a bad job, short trip and the main port La Libertad a good run ashore.
Not many stayed for more than one trip, handy if you wanted to be home for a certain date.

I Also sailed on the MS Trinculo joined in Glasgow 1970 down to Monrovia then over to Baltimore and ports up the US coast many happy memories

My late father (he crossed the bar in November 2001) was Captain Michael (Micky) Ogden... He was with Bowrings from March 1942 till forced redundancy in early 1985 when the new owners sold the last ship... I was lucky enough to go away with him on several ships - Forth Bridge, London Bridge, El Lobo although I was probably really annoying as the captain's sprog...

The captains son, Roger Pilling, came with us for a voyage on the London Bridge.
He got in the way of a pot of boiling coffee on the Bridge after the ship took a hefty roll and got very badly scalded.
Often wondered what happened to him, it was a very nasty accident.

My Father, Tom Gill, was bosun for many years with Bowrings, his last ship was Sydney Bridge where he fell ill in Vittoria and flew home dbs after being stabilised there following a heart attack. Just looking at his discharge, Masters name was Lyall I think. (1973)

#3... Hi David, if your working offshore chances are you are probably working for Total Marine, Tidewater, or Mermaid. I gave up the Ghost in 2002, so if you were here prior to this chances are I know you. However my memory re names is not so hot, unless it is one that sticks in memory banks for some reason. Swires had offshore ships during my time, but were managed by Total Marine, they did take the ships off the coast for a while, but should imagine they have certain tonnage back again. Even if I don't know you and you come in the time frame mentioned will almost certainly know people who you may have sailed with out here. Cheers John S

Hi I was on the Forth Bridge 06/05/74 until 25/10/74 I have no memory what this ship was like or where we went. Bizarre I agree. I am looking at my discharge books and would like a photo of all the ships I sailed on. If you have a photo I would love a copy as I have googled MV ForthBridge and all I get is the London Bridge. Was deck cadet on Forth Bridge 1971 -72. Spent most of my time in the duct keel working the ballast tank valves locally as the remotes never worked.
