Des I can understand that.
No doubt to make sure no one walks off with it you still have a pot in one hand.
Was in the same port on Sky Princess in 2022, one of the most beautiful parts of the world all around the Baltic region.
Des 21, Exactly the same myself Des, the bloody toilet doors here usually mean you have to use the handle to pull the door towards you, so i use a toilet tissue so as not to touch the handle, problem then is having exited, trying to find a bin to dispose of the tissue. At least we are lucky, the women have to sit down, and that is something horrible. My wife was amazed when we were in Germany, the ladies toilet seat actually revolved through a cleaning process every time, she was so pleased she took a photo of it. as i tell her maybe men better by design !!
Hi Keith.
Best one we saw was in NZ, every so often the toilet door would lock and water would spray all the inside. OK as long as you weren't locked inside LoL.

Japan toilets, a pure delight to use, the after spray can be fun if you like that sort of fun.
All Princess ships have a wash basin at the entrance to the self serve cafeteria, but how many bother, not many!!
Been a big virus outbreak in some parts of Queensland and other states, WA is to bring masks back and most hospitals and aged care facilities around the nation still have such.
But one of the nations senior health officials said there is no need.
The majority of those who still get the virus have only had one or two vaccinations, no boosters.
She claims that if you have a six monthly booster you should be fine.
We get our 6th at the end of month.
Just as a note.
Sweden issued a memo last week about the effects of the virus on the country.
They claim to have had the softest of all restrictions globally.
Masks and a few minor changes such as reduced school hours.
Result, their death toll etc no worse than any other country and a far better than here in Oz where we had some of the hardest restriction.
I see that the disease of sacking, and then re-employ on worse conditions is catching, the latest cruise company seems hell bent on doing the same as PO ferries,

This tactic, although illegal, does not seem to encourage the government to combat this, so would it not be lovely if we could apply it to them, they don't do their job efficiently, so we sack them all, and reemploy on lower pay, just a thought.
#26/27 i have no allusions about the shipowner Keith. British or otherwise. They are there for one reason only and that is profit. When we had a merchant navy we had a say in the matter small as it was. British certification was much sought after as was recognised above most when it came to the large insurance put on vessels. My last foreign vessel in 1972 I was on 32 pounds a day. A Chinese seaman was on 28 pounds a month. The Chinese were sacked and philipinos employed for 27 pounds a month. Today however British seamen have no edge on the market. You are lucky to have a job. JS.
Unfortunately the employers have won the battle over the Unions, mainly through attrition and the back stabbing by some of the \Union Bosses like Tom Yates and others. We had some hard times; but I found most at sea to be great companions. I may have been lucky in my choice of the eighteen ships I sailed on. There is no chance that those times will ever come back. We had the best of them.

Sorry but no offence intended , the days of decent wages are long gone.
Ask a seafarer this question , do you get overtime(yes ) how much are you paid for your overtime? if you do not want to work over time we will find someone who will.
Do not know if this is trueon some cruise ships certain crew members are not paid a salary, they are paid from the gratuities added to passengers bills, this funds their salaries.
Perhaps those that cruise can verifiy this? Joh Oz perhaps.
