Des as most French spoken words especially nouns are sexually acknowledged , e.g garçon is masculine and la femme is feminine , what do they call when one is both . What do they put on toilet doors for example ?, or do they have a little picture of a male and female holding hands for foreigners ? I refer of course to the illes an Elle’s . The nous and vous the Le and las ? Still prefer the old Spanish where everyone knew what Para Nacha was, Costa speaks for itself , and Cuba Libra was rum and coke and not liberty for Cuba. Cheers JS

There are a few similar names in French and Welsh, but I only know the clean ones. My mother who mainly spoke Welsh at home, used to give the French Onion seller a cup of tea, every time he came around, then; she did that to everyone, even the Gypsy's.

There was a young girl called Virginia, Virgin for short but not for long.
Cape Doctor, blows with a vengeance across Table Bay.

AS to death at sea, another blood went over the wall from a cruise ship yesterday.
Body washed up on the South Oz coast, only 29 according to news.

How they fall over is a mystery, the rails are so high you have to climb over, maybe she was a bit over refreshed and tries something stupid.

Major alert in the Channel this morning. Another load of illegal mirgrants got into trouble.
Rescue services have rescued 43 and recovered 4 dead this morning.

There were supposed to be over 500 made it across yesterday. This cannot continue.

Now if we took our kids out in the channel in a rubber boat, we'd be charged with neglect, endangering, and everything else imaginable.

Maybe the French authorities should be charged with culpable killing.
They allow the boats to leave from French soil so they are aware of the dangers of such crossings.

Why has the most useless UN not stepped in and done something.

Look at the head of the UN over the last few years, about as useful as an empty water cask in a lifeboat.

I was 2nd Officer on RFA Plumleaf in the vicinity of Ascension Island on our way towards the Falkland Islands in May 1982 when one of the Hong Kong Chinese crew decided to leave the ship. He went to the stern, took off all his clothes and neatly folded them. Then he tied a rope to the rail and lowered himself into the sea which was a glassy calm on that day and the sun was shining. Some time later the Chinese bosun came across the pile of clothes, saw the rope and guessed what had happened and reported it to the bridge. We turned around immediately. Fortunately we were in company with another RFA (Olwen or Olmeda) which carried two Seaking helicopters and they joined in the search and after about two hours one of them spotted him waving like mad ! It turns out he did not like his fellow Chinese crewmembers and he told the helicopter crew that rescued him that if they dropped him back on the Plumleaf he would do the same thing again, so they took him back to their own ship and I presume he was flown home from Ascension Island. It takes all sorts.
