This was to be my first cruise - and suffice to say at the time I thought my last - as I had that awful experience of experiencing mel de mar !!!

I have managed to collect the full history of the good Ship Leda except the brochure of her as the Najla - hoping someone can steer me in the right direction to get a copy of her brochure as well as why she had the H on her funnel ?

Looking at the info for her various names and owners from 79 thru' 88 it looks like it was Dolphin (Hellas) Shipping SA of Piraeus,Greece- So H for HELLAS.....

Incidentally,I like your (probably unintentional)pun re the NAJLA livestock carrier-'hope someone can steer me in the right direction!
One other thing,if the NAJLA was ever run as a cattle carrier,what would they want with with a brochure !.. and no return tickets issued,one supposes

Another picture of NAJLA with H on the funnel may pose a bit of a problem because she was supposedly owned by Kuwait Livestock Transport and Trading Ltd. of Kuwait.

There are no pics on all the usual sites showing her as a livestock carrier and I can only think she was never converted into such.The pic shows her I think in Norway after sale by Bergen Line,and renamed Najla ,registered Kuwait.She looks like a passenger ship still. Perhaps she had been bought or brokered instead by Hellas with the intention of converting her to a cruise ship....still called NAJLA as originally intended by Kuwait,but with the Hellas funnel ready for or during her conversion for cruising....

#4 Yes-I was right-as I thought-she was NEVER converted into a livestock carrier, as originally intended.
# 5 Doc Vernon--Yes-same ship-a nice conversion to a cruise ship from a ferry.
